limited slip $2300can worth it??

i ordered a cobalt ss/sc black with sunroof and air bags . I was wondering if it was worth the $2300 for the Recaro and limited slip. I still have time to change the order as of yet they have not started to build the car. Mostly im interested in the limited slip and if its worth it.

The seats suck ass IMO, but I am a bigger guy.. You really have to sit in the Recaro's before you make your decision because sitting in them changed mine.. I REALLY wanted the LSD as well.

Well, I love the Recaro's even though I'm a bigger guy- it just took a few hours in em to get them molded to fit. And when you consider the fact that the LSD ALONE has been quoted at 1100 to 1500 USD, the price to have it on delivery ain't half bad.

I'm not a big fan of the recarros. As for the LSD. Depends on what your plans are for the car. If you want to do some Autocross racing, it is a must. If you want to drag race, how far are you going to go? Stock w/w-out LSD = almost no difference. But after you start the modding, the more power you put to the wheel, the more you will notice a difference. Generally when you compare cars of these stature, say each car is making 400hp to the wheel, they both run the 1/4 mile. the one with LSD will put down a 11.9, as for the one without lsd will put down a 12.3. Thats about it. As for getting as a factory option, i wish i would have. Its gonna cost me about 1000 bucks to put a LSD in my car, and thats me doing all the labor.

If you're going to get into serious moding or auto crossing, yes I'd say go for the LSD, it's cheaper to do it now then later (even if you do all the labour yourself you still won't save much). If you're buying the car for a daily driver to do a bit of spirited driving here and there, I'd say the LSD would be a waste of money, it's just not something that gets any use on public roads.

If you can afford it from the factory, get it from the factory. I wanted the LSD in mine, but I took it from the dealer's lot and the difference between what I paid and what it would have cost to have it ordered with LSD and Recaros was closer to $7000, so to me it wasn't worth it.

Bottom line...read about any unhappy G85 owners yet? Didn't think so. Read any SS Recaro seats for sale lately? Didn't think so. Stick with the performance package...you won't regret it!!

I didnt think much about not getting the LSD , until I found even a hard corner on the street at anything above 3/4 throttle , the inner front tire will go up in smoke . I really wish now I would been patient and ordered a car with G85 , than buying from dealer stock . I bought the Recaro's separate , so I at least have those . IMO , the recaros are a godsend over the stock seats . After 50 million threads about it , the general opinions seems to be they start getting uncomfortable for people with a larger than 34" waistline . The side bolsters on the lower and upper seat are stiff .

According to motor trend the LSD they put on the Cobalt isn't that great. The article where they tested the Supercharged against the SRT-4 they reported that the inner tire will brake loose even with the LSD. I have a Eaton LSD in my '78 Monte and once that baby detects wheel spin and locks up, it dose'nt unlock until the torque load drops off. (lift the throttle).
I really don't regret not having it. If u launch strait and don't over correct the steering both wheels will spin together anyway. I try not to spin a $500 set of Perrelli's in the first place

I disagree. Any spirited driving at all in these cars without a limited slip will leave you hangin and wondering when it will be that the car will begin to hook up and pull. I myself have the LSD and I've been left hangin, get the LSD, you'll be sorry later if you dont. Yes I absolutely love the Recaros, they are worth the extra cash

thats because of the wheel hop issue, not directly to be associated with the LSD. The torque damper greatly improves this. If motor trend had a "stiffy" torque damper installed this passage may have not been recorded.
