Go-Kart/ Lawnmower 'balt?

So my cobalt sounds like a GoKart or a Lawnmower when I accelerate. What the hell is the problem?

it started first as just a buzzing noise that sounded like it was coming from the supercharger after some wheel hop. so, could it be coming from up higher around the downpipe, because I installed the exhaust myself and i'm pretty sure the bolts were all tight. Possibly something got shaken lose?

well...given the fact taht you hopped it...could be the dp, idk if the stocker has a flex hose, but those have been known to blow...or it could just be loose at the collector...

define blow... something inside the downpipe, like the cat or an actual hole? because i'm modded, and if i don't have to swap my intake back to the OEM and can just tighten something and fix it i'd love that option.

so it used to sound better, now it sounds like a lawnmower, yea, that's almost 100% a leak somewhere.

well, that's comforting... sorta. I really hope i can fix it myself. it's the weekend. i'm gonna have to pull it into a friends garage (because it's decided to dump 4 inches last night), and take the exhaust apart.

no need to take the exhaust apart, just feel around the connections for air that's moving through it, look for broken or loose bolts. take a piece of string, or something very light and hold it near the flanges. if the string moves, then you found your leak. you obviously don't want to do this with the car warmed up, or you'll burn the **** out of yourself trying to find a leak by the manifold

definitely, made the mistake of trying to adjust my exhaust tip just after I put it all on one time. thank god it had only been running for a short while...lol

any other suggestions on how to go about fixing this? i can handle the exhaust, but i've never had to reach the downpipe from up top. can you do it or is there a lot in the way?

thanks everybody. The car is in the shop as of 16:30 yesterday (friday). I got home, put the car up on stands and the flex on the downpipe was cracked. And I'm not sure how the stock header is made and therefore don't know if it was supposed to look this way or not, but I'm 99.99% sure the header was cracked at each of the bolts that holds it fast to the block. I don't know how long till I get her back, but she's being fixed under warranty, can't complain about that. She'll be back to sounding sexy in no time.

Again, thanks, I wouldn't have known where to start without you guys.

that's how it looks. there's slits around the holes, seems really stupid but that's normal.

that's exhaust leak, I had buzzing noise on my tc, looked at the gasket on the turbo, and it had black soot on it, nut had backed off causing exhaust to escape vibrating the gasket causing buzzing
