Bosch +4's vs. Race Performance Plugs
the general issue is that it's too much spark plug for the coil packs. Because it utilizes more of a powerful spark than the coil can take it fries the cables or the coil pack itself. Keep the stocker plugs in, trust me at this point in the ball game unless your just changing the gapping of the plugs, a different plug all together won't net anything for you.
just got some NGK's today to replace the ZEX ones that I have (I've cleaned these twice, and my car RPM-drop is still pretty bad...it wasn't when I first installed them last summer--now this car keeps wanting to die at every stoplight), and I was just double-checking the gap. .040, right? I would have just gotten OEM ones, but I forgot what brand came with the car...I want to say AC Delco.
anyone know if the NGK come pregapped?
sidenote: i did get the Bosch windshield wipers that contour to your windshield...those things are working out well.

no, gap em yourself. Always gap plugs regardless if they come pre-gapped. #1 pet pev of mine. Never let someone do the work for you. You just never know...
What modifcations do you have? Gap is dependent on what your running.

Isnt a plug just a controlled short? the spark plug's job is to act like two wires arc'ing... thats it! the only difference between one brand and another is the material used and other minor gimics, in this case four 'legs' rather then one... theres nothing a plug does that would create a "more powerful spark" than the amount of energy given to it...
wtf?

That's quoted from a auto website.. garbage IMO..
http://www.howstuffworks.com/ignition-system2.htm How the ignition system works in a nut shell.. you are sorta correct..
I told a friend of mine to gap his at .32 for his S2 setup. It's running great. He had his set at .40 and it was running like poo, plugs kept fouling out. Keep that one in mind.
