need some exhaust advice

alright ive been searching and looking and stuff and heres what ive come up with. the stock 2.4 exhaust is 2.5, but the muffler sucks, but the gmpp catback is 2.25, so why buy it or any other catback that is 2.5 (anything bigger ive read is a waste) so would i be better off just buying a muffler like magnaflow or borla or whatever and getting it welded on to my stock exhaust? what are some good mufflers out there? will gains be comparable to that of just buying another whole catback system or no? any help is appreciated

this is how our exhaust works...its 2.5 till you hit the rear axle then it turns into 2.25, the muffler and resonator are both your restrictive parts...the cheapest way to make the exhaust "good" is to swap out the muffler with a magnaflow/flomaster/flopro and the resonator..and then change ur 2.25 piping to 2.5 piping...easy job and wont cost more then 200 bucks

Just cut off the stock muffler... and weld on a straight pipe... Mufflers are for Pussies.

With that said, I bought the GMPP Performance Cat-Back. The difference over stock is that it is Madrel-bend or whatever and is supposed to flow a lot better than stock piping, etc. Its a straight-thru design.
