after debating over the cobalt, mazda 6, and tC i decided to go with the cobalt ss.

i cant get over the beautiful lines of this car. ill keep everyone posted on my many mods to come!

Let me just say man, thank you for making an awesome decision...too many people have Mazda 6's and their performance isn't on the level of the 'balt and the Cobalt just looks a ton better than the tC...and I bet the tC can't slalom faster than a C6 vette.

Well i predict the Cobalt will be in high demand, probably not as rare as we think (maybe the SS) but i see in a year or so it being almost as prevelent to see as the SRT-4. I think people will warm up to it more and more once its actually on the roads!

 

Your probably right, the marketing they are doing for the car is pretty first class in getting buyers but personally I'd rather it be like the GTO( ), low volume but highly enthusiastic owners.

Whenever I see a GTO on the street I freak out because it's the 5th or 6th I've ever seen...unlike the Mustang, where everyone and their grandma is gonna drive one.

I dunno, I know it's better for us and for GM if they sell a billion Cobalts but it'd still be nice to be one of the few. That way the people who get burned, really will say 'what the hell was that?!'

I'm with you on wanting a car that nobody else has though i don't think tat will happen. I think they (SS) will be only slightly less common than the Z24.

 

MotorTrend was able to slalom a Cobalt SS through the cones faster then it could a 2005 Corvette Z51 in their February '05 issue.

 

From Motortrend's article they stated that the Cobalt SS went through the cones faster than a Corvette with the Z51 suspension and also mentioned it outstopped 60-0 a WRX, did better on the skidpad than the R32 and fast to 60mph than the Mini Cooper S. Look for the article if ya want, it's all over forum sites as well.

...Thanks for the clarification on vette comment dude, either way any FWD car that can claim stats better than or equal to any vette in the last 2 generations is amazing.
