First time at dragstrip!
Well last night was the first time I've even been to a track. In fact it was the first time I've ever launched my car. It's an 08 ss tc with 3inch downpipe, k&n Sri, injen charge pipe, and attempted self tune on hptuners. I'll post the slip of my best time of 13.9. All the other times were in the 14.1 area with the highest trap speed of 107.99 mph. Looks like I really need to practice on my driving skills. What do you guys think? lol.

I lowered the front to 25psi. I didn't get a chance to pump the rear up. I didn't do anything to suspension either it was kind of a last minute thing to go to the track. Any advice on the 60'? I tried launching from 2-2500 in all those passes also. From what I've been reading I think I may also benefit from shifting closer to 6500 rpm? I was shifting around 6800. I also agree with you slowbalt but I would like to see what I could do myself.

def no need to be running all the way up to 6800 your losing power there lol. shift between 6200-6400 set the rev around 6500 and youll be good. on stock turbo its pointless to rev up past 6500rpm. those launch rpms are good next time drop the air down to 25 again and raise the rear tire pressure to about 40lbs, take mideget footballs deflate them and put them in the rear springs and pump them up it will help with the car not sending all the weight to the rear and losing grip up front and from there shift like crazy haha

Yea I'm going to try the footballs next time around. I'll also change the rev limit and try shifting at the rpm you suggested. The reason I was shifting at such a high rpm was because it seems like I was getting better shifts. As in the car was staying in boost or atleast built boost quicker between shifts. It seems to bog at lower shifts but then again maybe it's my junk tune haha.

I turned traction off but not esc. I also had it at 60% in first gear and used NLTS only after 1-2 shift. I'm going to try the suggestions hopefully tomorrow and I'll update back and see if I got some better times. Thanks everyone for the suggestions by the way. 👍

That's not bad at all for your first time at the track!
Most people don't get outta the 14's first time around. Hopefully the people giving you advice have actually ran their car down the 1/4 mile before, if not ignore them.
Practice makes perfect, and the more times you go, the better you will get.
Again, nice job.

Yea it was right around 50 degrees last night. I'm down here in Orlando Fl now so it doesn't see below 50 too often. Another question, should I be in 4th at the end of the track? I stayed in 3rd every time and I'm not to sure where the Rpms were at. But with shifting at lower speeds I would imagine Id be shifting into 4th. Like I said I'm still new to strip but I'm learning or at least trying to lol.

ive been to the track a few times but most were in my supercharged cobalt and only twice in my turbo one but i usually go to a few test and tunes and grudge matches to watch and drive some of my buddies cars. those trap times if you get a 2.0-2.1 60' you should be low to mid 13s around 107-110. and yes towards the end of the track ive always nls into 4th so i dont lose any momentum so guys may stay in 3rd but i never have. overal though man it will come down to the little things lol you have good trap speeds and the times great for a first timer, the more you practice the better youll get, also to help with your 60's slip the clutch dont just pop it out
