If you have ever been on the Cobalt pages on Facebook, you'll see that many users talk **** about Cobalts, whether base, LSJ or LNF.
Whenever someone sells/trades their Cobalt for a different vehicle, they always say "upgrade." Doesn't matter if it's an extremely high mileage '90s performance car, they still call it an "upgrade."
There's a post up on the Cobalt SS Gang page right now where someone is selling aftermarket parts from his brother's LNF. He started the whole "for sale" post with:
Selling the last parts from the lnf. Bye bye pos slow worthless lnf. Poor excuse of a motor.
^^^That's a direct quote.
I understand that newer Cobalt owners are usually kids who buy their first car with the intention to just drive fast until they (or their parents) can afford something "better" (whatever that means; it's highly opinionated), but seriously there are guys on there who've owned Cobalts for years, finally moved on to a Subie or Evo or G35, and suddenly the Cobalt might as well be a riced out Civic.
Why is the Cobalt community (at least on Facebook) so toxic?
I love the SS. I'd gladly own another, even if it's an LSJ. I don't understand the hate. Why buy a FWD performance car if you're just going to hate it anyway?

You hate your car, because you wish you had the money to get bolt ons and tune the car, but you're stuckwith a shitty tune half way and have to live with that for a year till you getmoney. I just need a intake and intercooler then I can get the car tuned. Unless I want a better up icpipe and a different lower ic pipe.

I love the Cobalt. I enjoy owning my LNF, and I would gladly own another. Hell, I'd happily own an LSJ, although I'd probably opt to go with the turbo for it because the LNF has spoiled me.

The facebook page is a joke; literally.
It is pathetic and full of a bunch of half tards whose "big mod" is plstidip and paint brakes. People there and mostly wrong about anything they post and argue with people that post the right stuff.
I go there to troll and buy parts from desperate/needy people lol.

I score some pretty damn good deals across the board and flip things to make cash.
I just bought 2 iphones for the price 1 of them is averaging at. Both clean. Wipe them done, make them shiny, new charger with them and flip them. Easy $150 minimum there.

The guys on that page are the ones responsible for giving cobalts a bad name. My truck is worth twice what my car is and yet it sees all the rainy days and winter driving. I love my little black beast even though I may lose the motor in it at some point with the block issue. I won't bat an eye throwing another in it and being happy with what I have. For what they are the cobalts are fun inexpensive fast cars. Every car breaks stuff when you start pushing 1/2 more hp through it than it was designed to take. My biggest fear is someone causing a wreck with me, but oh well. I'm on that gang page and I find less and less that I'm going to it. Too much immaturity for me there. I appreciate my car for what it is and will have it for a long time.

I don't understand why people are so eager to make every attempt possible to devalue their own car!
Example: Joe is selling his car for $8000
Pete responds on Joe's thread saying "your [sic] cray-cray, your car ain't worth more then [sic] $5000!"
I just don't get it. It's worse on FB, but it's here too.
