i got 28,000 miles on mine, i might do this tommorow,

autozone has these filters for 14.99,

So, since crate engine depot charges 20$ for canada shipments, is there anywhere else to obtain this filter for a decent price ? I tried GMPartsDirect but I don't think they ship to Canada. (To be confirmed)
Any ideas other than the dealer at 77$ plus tax 15%.

So I bought the filter at Crate Engine Depot and added a cabin filter while I was at it cause the shipping is fixed at 20.65 to Canada so i may as well make it worth it. What an expensive filter. ..

Changing mine today and using this writeup, halfway done. mine wouldnt depressurize fully. It sputtered but then just kept running and running. i finally just said f-it and shut it off. pulled the lines off and gas came out for 2-3 seconds then stopped, there goes 5 bucks in gas. going to pull off other end now. black nastyness came out with the gas as well. guess it was plugged lol. great writeup btw

damn thing wouldnt de pressurize. oh well. got it changed, thanks for the writeup. see if this fixes my problem.....

I did exactly everything this thread recommended doing, and I went to repressurize the system, and I heard the fuel pump start to whine. All Good Right....

Wrong, I tried to start it after shutting it off thinking the system was fully pressurized, and the Car wouldnt start. I said what the hell. So i turned the ignition to the ON position again for about 20 seconds, turned off the car and tried to start it again and nothing.

I decided to pull the fuel line going to the Fuel Rail, and i wasnt getting any fuel. I reconnected it and decided to check the lines going to the fuel filter and i wasnt getting any fuel either.

Any suggestion on what else i should check for? Fuel Pump Relay?

I have a half talk of gas so i don't think the fuel pump is fried.

i read threw this really quickly... and i NEED mine changed.... BAD... reason i didn't is cuz my dealer said i don't really have to for a long time... i thought they were wrong but thought y would they say no to making money... but anyway... i didn't see anything about where i can buy that tool... where can i pick 1 up?

its super easy to do. hardest part was jacking up the car, and for some reason my system wouldnt depressurize but i got it done in 10 mins either way.

fark me, i'm on the same boat with eric304 on not starting. I probably put the relay in backwards or something. Sucks for me is that i work in like 1 hour /wrists

what a bunch of Diarrhea Sauce. I'll see if I can maybe get pictures later this week. If you look closely were the relay plugs into, it can go either up or down, not just rotating 360 either.

Yeah, I am not sure why GM didn't plug one of those holes so that you couldn't put the relay back in the wrong spot. That would save alot of people alot of headaches. The first time I did my fuel filter I put the relay in the wrong spot. Took me an hour of messing with everything before I figured out what a ******* I was... lol

I had a problem with the disconnect part of it and I couldn't get it done. I'll have to re-try another day.

use the grey one and use it on the 1 big line. It is supposed to release prongs cylindrical to the wall. Push it in and the prongs will detach from the hose. I didnt know how until my old man showed me while I was changing my oil and trans fluid.

So I assume I have to push really hard. Is there any twisting at all?
