How to install a 7" LCD H/U and Slim PS2 on 2007 Cobalt SS/SC
Hey guys, I am going to making A very in depth how to write up as I start to install my Head unit and PS2 into my 2007 Cobalt SS/SC, without on star, and using the cheap Wiring Harness.
I will be updating this thread as the project unfolds, Right now this portion of the thread is more or so me getting prepared for the install and reviewing the products I have ordered.
I bought a cheap Double Din 7" h/u off of ebay,
Eonon E1012 is the unit I bought:
$225.00 Shipped so far seemed like a great deal, I haven't powered it up to make sure everything is working but from everything I got and how well it was packaged I am please thus far.
Note these are not my images of the Unit.. credit (Toyota Owners Club - Australia > eonon 1012)
Specs from Eonon are as follows:

Here are some pictures of the Unit Sitting inside my Dash Waiting for the Wiring Harness, Dash Kit, And Antenna to get installed.
If you plan on installing this H/U you will need to cut out the back wall in the dash and unscrew the metal support bar (7m Ratchet, Pain in the ass to get out to!).
I will post more updates with tons more pictures as the parts come in and the insall begins!
UPDATES
So far this is my experience with this head unit.
- Radio reception is not that great, but that could also be effected by my ghetto shorty antenna
- Couldn't get any TV stations to come in but I really didn't expect or try to get any to come in
- The Blue tooth function works amazingly and automaticly syncs with your phone whenever you get in your car
- The usb functions is extremely fast and convienent, throw a 8gig flash drive in your car and you have an Ipod dedicated to just your car
- DVD playback is more than acceptable quality and works just like any other dvd player you would normally use.
- The volume settings are VERY touchy, level 1 volume in my car would be like 15% volume on stock head unit so that can get annoying. But I think this is because the HU is amping the speakers before it gets to the factory amp so correct me if I'm wrong but the speakers are getting like double the power.
- Head unit makes the stock sub hit pretty nice and hard on most ghetto songs.
- Don't turn the loud setting on bc it will blow you speakers lol
All in all I am very impressed with this HU and I have had it for about half a year now and its still working perfect.
Expect the Full write up by the end of this week.

Please note that the Adapter I bought had to be cut to get to fit this head unit, it wasnt much but I made it look pretty ghetto when I first did it. That has since been fixed that picture was from when i first installed it.

Ok...here is the HU that I installed in my 05' Cobalt
and the accesories I bought at Walmart for the install.(you may **** on the quality..but it works...cheap!)
next...removed the radio bezel and dash trim pieces...then rmoved the radio.
then, found which wiring harness I needed for the stereo...and wired up the interface module and relay(need this for security purposes)(some people may/may not choose the module...but I recommend it)
installed the HU in the aftermarket faceplate.
connected the wiring harness to Hu and reinstall faceplate bezel...notice the pink wire with heatshrink to a yellow wire...this goes to the pos+ wire on the e-brake switch.
and here it is installed
and with the 7" monitor open and playing
Hope this helps in some way.

Was that system overall easy to install and how did it work when you were done?

It was actually really easy to install after I found the right diagrams for what color on the harness equaled what.
As for the ebrake wire the only reason that is there is to wire it to your ebrake so that the head unit will only play dvds when the ebrake is on. Just a safety feature.. So take that ebrake cord and connect it to your remote wire "normally blue", so that it thinks the ebrake is on whenever you turn your car on so it will work anytime the head unit is turned on.
