Cobe, you can't just borrow a cable. The cable is tied to a serial number that has credits associated with it. The owner of the cable will have to purchase credits to unlock your car before you can tune or data log with it. Btw, you're going to want a copy of HP tuners yourself so that you can log your car from time to time to make sure it isn't slowly blowing up. This is especially the case if you are having Rakes tune you . Ebay usually has a fair number of HP tuners for sale, some with credits left even, for about half the price of new. I would either start there, or buy one off of a member here. Good luck.

James says he owns 5 cables and sends them to people he tunes......
And $200?
I will loan you my cables for a $1300 deposit. That is what it would cost me to replace it and unlock the cars I need.
You pay shipping both ways, return it within 30 days and I keep $100.
You would actually have to send me an extra $100 to unlock your car through my account as well.

Ask your potential remote tuner lots of questions. Judge them by how they respond and ask them about other people they have tuned; talk to those people.
Picking a good tuner is like picking a good attorney. Just because someone is plastered all over FB as "amazing" (like lawyeres on buses) does not automatically mean they are the bees knees.
Do some research.

if dunno means "dyno" thats actually a pretty good price considering its probably 100ish to rent the dyno for an hour. Just make sure the tuner is reputable with ecotecs/cobalts... because if not, you are not gonna have a good time
lots of good tuners on here. you can get remote tuned or make a day trip out of it and meet up with a northeast tuner.

Ok well my situation is this. I have an HP tuner and have tuned my car a bit with the MAF chart. Was going to learn but school starts up in a week.
They do a dyno test, then road, and he said has never tuned a Cobalt -_- sooo yeah. Remote tune is cool too but how do those work?
And I'm not located near anyone the tuned cobalt I think lol I'm in Wichita, Kansas.

well since you have the hp tuners already as long as you know how to copy and paste some tables youll be ok. what i would do is hit up terminator2 here on the forum and have him remote tune you. hes in my eyes one the best if not the best for a cobalt.
