ok im lost

i have an 04 ion redline that currently has 82k on it, when i bought it it has 72k on it and it was making a sound that was sorta like a diesel. so i did what what everyone said and change the timing tensioner. i got the kit from zzp and tore into it and low and behold the guide for the water pump tensioner was broke, so i changed it all and got it bad together along with new cams (stock ones) and new rocker arms and the noise is still there. it almost sounds like a valve tap or along those lines. the car has long tube header, zzp exhaust, 60lb injectors, intake and 3.0 pulley. im going tomorrow to change the intercooler pump and some front end stuff/ im gonna take the valve cover off and see if i can see anything off. also the car pulls hard and no engine code lights on, only smoke is a puff of blue smoke if the car sits for a day or to (im thinking the valve seats are worn). iv put about 8k on the car since the work was done and its never had a hiccup other then the sound
any ideas

Exhaust leak maybe? Most aftermarket headers like to leak.

Blue smoke is bad. That's oil. Does your oil smell like gas, is it milky, have you done a compression test? Answer this questions before you ask any more.

Same thing here. About 3 years ago. Then guess what happened at a stop light? Car shut off, I restarted it and shut off again. I gave it gas a third time and blew it to smithereens. Yours, I bet is on its way out.

Without being able to here the noise there's not much we can tell you but noise from the base of the engine is not good sounds like a bearing in the base going or gone sorry. But without hearing it who knows what it is could be you ac clutch bearing gone that makes a racket like you wouldn't believe. Or your supercharger coupler also loud noise. The guy in the shop should of found the problem for you. Maybe take it to another shop. Good luck.

Ya it's just weird i literally put the whole kit on it and iv put 8k on it since iv done it and it's made the noise since then. And it was making the noise before i did the timing kit and there was a broken guide on the water pump tensioner. But even after the kit is still made the noise do could it have rebroke that guide somehow ,i have no clue

an old piece cant be in there, when i did it i pulled the pan and found the chunk missing and cleaned it all. im thinking the only thing it could be is another broken guide, but that would mean i installed the water pump tensioner wrong which i dont think you can really do.
