Down shifting...

So recently i have noticed a sound in front end, couldn't narrow it down till tonight.. When i shift down into 1st from 2nd... It sounds like a fan spinning.... almost but its only as i start shifting into first from second, I dont think its a grinding noise but maybe was thinking from clutch..? any ideas where i should start looking? and what to fix.. aka have never replaced my clutch.. car has almost 95000 miles on it, any help would be greatly appreciate thankyou!

Question 1 - Why are you downshifting into 1st? I can't think of a situation where this would be a smart idea with the gearing in the F35.

Question 2 - How fast are you going when you do this? If it's anything over 10-15mph the noise you're hearing is likely a synchro saying sayonara.

Driver side of trans. 2 plugs that are allen or torx. Top is to fill, bottom is to drain. Fill to it leaks out. (i would suggest driving around then refill till it leaks out)

i believe it may be the differential, jack the front end of the car up and spin one of the wheels to see how much slop it has before it makes the other wheel spin

i just had this problem and the diff pin eventually blew through the case

actually after re-reading it that may not be the case, the sound youre hearing is the clutch spinning. does the noise stop when you put the clutch in and put it into first gear? if so then youre low on fluid

the problem most likely lies in putting the car into first while in motion over 5mph lol

lol. he's just trying to go into first at too high of speed. only time you should be in first is taking off and if you're creeping at a light or something.
