BTW I live almost 3 hours from a reputable tuner (I live in the middle of the Mojave Desert).......he's only done one cobalt before.....MINE. I think it was around $300 for my dyno tune. He didn't mess with the timing....he only fixed the afr (34 pulls!!!)
34 pulls is a lot of time on the dyno....for being the first cobalt its kinda understandable though. I spent 6 hours on the dyno with my tuner getting things right. Since then I've logged about 40 hours more. Now I can get the afr tweaked in a few pulls, usually. I hate using a dyno for anything other than rough changes or establishing a baseline. The street tuning is so much more beneficial, but it can be more expensive (right Psykostevo ).

Yeah it CAN be expensive. You can pay for a big ticket like me and have to deal with court dates, or you can just set an appointment and put it on a machine. That's the only benefit of the dyno is safety and security. Other than that it can make unreliable tunes, because a daily driver should be tuned long term. Codes don't pop up right away, and tuning the AFR on a dyno can make you set it falsely too high thinking you perfected it, only to find out that it was too lean.

Well TAG was a great place when Jim and Mase worked there. They have both since left TAG and Mel is running the show, and from what I know, he is TERRIBLE when it comes to customer service.

I find it funny that TAG has not even responded to this thread....they just as well go out of buisness if they don't plan to give the customer support that is deserved to people spilling out money to them.

I should have "La Banana" this whole weekend. If I get anywhere with it I will share the results with you. It has a nearly identical setup to you.

TAG finally e-mailed me.......they gave me someone's tune and said for me to try it.

The tune was fro 700 ft above sea level........I'm about 2500 ft abouve sea level.

TAG you were suppose to use my scans and tune my car...not someone else's...I'm not paying $100 to tune your other customers cars.

Well after a weekend of frustration with the 2.6" on the pump gas, it was not feasible. Had to go up to a 2.8" to make it work on the 91 octane. FYI

With the 109 octane tune, and the 2.6" the Interceptor Gauge reads ~430hp at 7,200 rpms

I know it's not an exact science, but in relation to the 310hp that we would get before the cams and pistons, it's definitely a huge improvement. We have tried taking it to the track twice. First time resulted in a broken axle, second time after custom axles resulted in a destroyed clutch. Now since the New clutch, it has not been back to the track.

I think we should take it to the Dyno on the 109 octane tune to get some hard numbers.
