over spray soon gone

long story short someone got over spray on my ss and wont pay for the removal... so tommaro im going out and buying a variable speed buffer/polisher and some buffing compound and going to town. never buffed a car but im not a tard either i know not to go up and down but to go side to side and not sit in one spot at a time. ill take before and after pics.. any one know of a good product to use that i can buy at the auto parts store

If you have never operated a buffer before, I strongly suggest you do research on proper use and technique. You may not burn through your paint but you could (and most likely) will incur hazing and holograms. not to mention, you should remove the over spray the best you can with a clay bar/clay lube.

Autopia.org and the Meguiars forums are great places to pick up information.

car has been clay bared and waxed twice i believe since the over spray.. i just finished cleaning it and used just polishing compound and it didnt turn out to bad.. removed most of the overspray but not enough.. shines like a new car tho i love it. i think i need a stronger clay bar

I 2nd the use of a clay bar. The over spray I had on my rear bumper came off with a little work.

what kind of over spay is it if it is not a catalyzed paint like the the first stage in two stage paint. wax and grease tar remover will take it of and if that doesn't work because it has been there for a wail paint thinner should take it off

no clear coat is catalyzed and paint thinner wont affect it

damm i wish someone would have told me this a long time ago its been on there for about o... 4 months. most of it will come off by picking at it with my finger nail wich is why i dont understand y it wont come off with the clay bar
