i dont believe its that easy:

I jus tpicked these up last night, I have an hid kit right now for my stock headlights, and just ordered a H7 bulb so I can throw the HID's in here, just need to know how to remove the low beam bulb so i can get an HID in their. These headlights were bought as a plug and play kit and as you can see the wiring for them is crazy. after removing the rubber seal over the lowbeam i found the bracket that holds the low beam light in, it seems like 3 offset hard to get to screws, and on the very back of the light is 2 connectors, assuming positive and negative, for the light itself with a spring and 2 screws supporting the spring. Dont believe removing thsi will do me any good and in fact make it a pain in the ass to screw a spring down once i take it apart and have to put it back together.

I tried to change mine as I thought I had a burnt bulb but no, one of the two mettalic connectors had burned down...

dammit cheap lights, the halos didn't last a month..

but I loved them.. :\

I've been trying to find out the mod of "quad tails" or whatever you want to call them. Having trouble searching for the mod because I don't know what everyone calls them on here. I've seen the LED tails on ebay with the trunk lid tails that are also LEDed, but I can only find them with the chrome rings and I think those tails are fugly (no offense to anyone that has them). Just wondering that those who have the LEDs in your trunk lid tails, if you bought them or did it yourself?

are these a good buy?

they're a projector plug and play kit, does that mean that they're also HID? they say CCFL, but I'm not sure what that is...anyone install these before and have good success? it's definitely not a cheap deal in my opinion, i could make my own for cheaper probably, but i feel safer getting a quality manufactured product that won't have fogging or sealant issues

Eh... they're alright. I own a pair.

By plug and play, that means that you don't have to splice the LED's and halo ballasts into the running lights to get them working... they're already able to fire up and go. They use halogen H7 low, and H1 high bulbs... so they're not HID right out of the box... You will need to do a HID conversion yourself (H7 bulbs for low).

CCFL's are brighter than the LED halos in the other styles, but the inverters they come with are rather failure prone and they are poorly shielded (Creates a large amount of EMI that causes interference with your radio and radar detectors). If you get these, you will likely need to get aftermarket CCFL inverters since they'll probably fail or just ruin your radio experience.

Oh, and if you buy them on PFYC, you are paying waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much. Ebay has them for under half of PFYC's price.

ok, so the H7 bulbs for low need to be replaced by HID bulbs? can you not replace the H1 high bulbs too? Also, did you upgrade yours to HID? As well, do you have any pictures of yours w/ the CCFL in them? what's the biggest difference between them? brightness? color? would ebay have CCFL inverters for sale and how hard is it to install those/what would it cost?

thanks for all the help!

in addition to the questions i had on my post on page 9, i found the same headlights for cheaper on turbometal:

http://turbometal.com/05-06-07-chevr...tor-black.html

they offer HID upgrade kits for the low and high beams...are these effective or is it something i should try and do on my own? also, how do these projectors function? are the rings effectively the "run-time" lights now and when you switch your lights on it's simply halogen bulbs? or are the rings effectively your new lights that you'd turn on at night to try and drive with? also, does the HID upgrade get rid of the "plug-and-play" operation of these lights because a higher voltage will be running to them than before?

thanks for all your help, sorry i'm such a newb w/ so many questions

I'm not sure how much of this I can answer but.. I've had these lights since the summer (no problems at all with anything burning out btw) I have a HID kit in just the low beams, on my 09 balt and didn't take out the DRL fuse. Ok so, in the day JUST the low beams come on, when it gets dark everything else lights up minus the high beams (turn signals, both halos, leds) The "plug-and-play" in these lights (if I'm not mistaken) is referring to the halos and leds, which work off the factory harness. I have a plug and play HID kit and everything else still works the same

and you got your HID kit from these guys or somewhere else? was installation truly plug n play for your HID or was there some extra splicing/wiring involved (i've been reading a lot a/b harnesses and bases etc., tho from the description it sounds like all that comes w/ these headlight kits)...also, the other poster mentioned he had radio problems w/ the inverter on these, has that been an issue for you?

thanks for the info about when the lights are on, that's a great help

Sorry should have mentioned that, got the kit from 3Bspec. Completely plug-and-play, straight off the stock harness. No splicing or anything required, trust me the hardest thing is finding where to stick your ballasts.
