Well here are my Heads and Tails:
Headlights: been baked and inside painted black, 2 tone eyelids(yellow and black)

Taillights: Nightshaded over 4 coats and 7 coats of clear with DC(my car club, Diverse Customs) in reverse lights

 

Man do I feel stupid for not checking this reply to my lights, lol. I bought resistors because of the hyper blink

 

hello all i was wondering if those led tail light set are plug and play and are those headlight convertions are plug and play cuz i am thinking of ordering a set of headlights and tail lights

 

hello, i have 3rd gen hid's on my cobalt and my one projector bulb and an led went out. ive got H1 10k bulbs and 194 leds which are blue to color match the 10k color. i got my car about 3 weeks ago and i need to find a place to order the headlight bulb and the 194 led in blue, i was thinking xenonpros.com for the headlight but have no idea where to get the led. if someone could post up or pm me a place to purchase these id appreciate it.

i think your best bet for the "simple" LED replacement would be ebay... or wait for someone to post up where an actual site is

 

hey thanks for the response, here is a link to the actual lights found out what kind they were. http://www.spyderauto.com/20052007-c...hts-p-282.html. Someone else got back to me to inform me that the led's that come with these headlights already have a blueish tint to them, so I just need to replace them with the same ones that came with them. Anyone else have these headlights? from what I've seen they are pretty popular among cobalts.

 

i have them.. and well to make it look real sick put hid's on them

 

what hids do you need for 1st generation?...and for the fog lights?

 

I have been looking for tail light covers for my 2006 cobalt ss/sc and i cant find anything. Does anyone know how to do it.

 

Im thinking of buying the 1st gens does anyone know if you have to wire them up a certain way or is it just plug and play?

 

1st gens ive not seen a plug and play for yet... the CCFLs are simple plug and play. i had those before

 

1st and 3rd gens come without the halos and LED's wired up. IF you want those to work, you need to tap the wires into the parking lamp wire.

 

why cant they be...lazy ass manufactures lol

 

Is there a good guide (maybe buried somewhere in this thread) for wiring up 3rd gen ones?

Do these headlights need anything to work other than to be wired correctly? All the talk of HID kits is confusing me...not sure if they're just for people wanting different color/intensity or if the headlights are actually missing...light.

Need some opinions here. One of the leds on my third gens just burnt out (or quit working, whatever). I disconnected the rest of them, and I think they look a hell of a lot better, and not as cheesy as they did before. Tell me what you think.

Can I see a picture of the low beams turned on with the LED's and the halos unwired (turned off)? I think this would look the least cheesy and ricey.

 

hey i have the 3rd gen projectors. I know the low beam is an h1 bulb. I am probably gonna get hids for that.

but what is the bulb for the hi beam?

and did anyone have any headlight alignment problems when putting projectors in? mine are in right but aren't aligned too good. any advice?

 

Did anyone figure out what exactly those little black boxes are for on the 2nd gen? (CCFL)

I think CCFL halos need ballasts, at least that's what I've been told. I think that's what those are for. are the halos wired to it?
Edit: I just looked closer at the picture. That's definitely what it is.

 

But I've read in another thread that the earlier CCFL's didn't have these boxes. Then again you're probably right

 

hey does anybody know what wires to tap a balast into fro the gen 1 turn wiring so i can use my 2 color led turn /marker ?

 

Does anybody have the black LED tail lights on a coupe? The reason I ask is because when I see the pics, they don't look all that black, but I've never seen a pic of them on a car. The look more red than the smoke ones do. Then I look at the sedan style ones and they're black as can be. I really want LED tails with black housings because I got pulled over when I had niteshades on my stock tails. I was thinking of getting LEDs and tinting them hoping that the LEDs would shine brighter through the niteshades, but if they have nice black ones I could avoid the whole niteshades bit altogether. I'm pretty sure the picture earlier in the thread had smoked ones, so if anyone has black ones, a pic would really be appreciated.

 

Ok so I'm driving an 06 Cobalt SS SC. Black. I currently have 6000k HID's. Lows/Fogs. But I think I would enjoy the black 3rd gen halo projectors. What do yall think about that?

 

does anyone know if stock lenses off an SS fit on some 3rd gens?
