Server Question
This site does not seem like its on a dedicated server....
And if theres so many inactive users, why not remove them? Why not archive old posts? Hell, this site could be profitable if someone gave a damn. The more he stops giving a damn, the more it will cost him out of pocket, assuming this is on a dedicated server, which I do not feel as if it is.
I know on a local forum it's $500 a year to be a vendor. I'd assume it's more here with a much larger exposure.

Out of the 15 or so forums that I am on... this one is by far the slowest to load... and it has the most problems.
But this is old news. We've all known this for a very long time.

thanks Reign for a serious considered answer and to Slowswap for at least trying to look at it sensibly, and to averagewhiteboy for voicing the frustration we all share. (If we give a damn....but you all know my thoughts on that I am sure)
I went back and did a search and my number was a lot closer then yours Reign.
I searched for all members who made a post after 02-06-2009.
I got a result of 8012 members. Since I wanted no speculation, I counted every premium member out of all of those 8012 members.
There is 283 members that have post since a year ago that are premium members.
My original figure of 263 members wasn't that far off. It's actually more then I accounted for.

From what Rob at G5Club.net was saying, he believes that the server issues here are due to the site and Database being on a single server rather than on separate servers. Basically by having the SQL database and the forum on one machine, it is causing a server overload which in turn causes site access and DB issues.
When the site and server are offloaded to two separate machines, the likelyhood of refused connections and errors diminishes.

from my t3 at work (44mbps download) i have a horrible time getting on, same at home from a different provider (20mbps cable).
search errors, often times the site does not load or shows an error msg "the site is closed by admins" etc.
murk idk how you dont have problems
slowswap is right though, i used to own a small IT firm and we did web design/hosting, this site is generating some decent revenue and needs to be fixed. i believe that was our admin online last week when he banned everyone and replied 20x in a post? if he's too busy, offload it to someone else..

The admin of this site is a joke. Out of how many threads we had in the past YEARS and not in one thread from what I've seen, he has ever chimed in and actually fixed the problem. He may say he will, but he never does. He doesn't even let his own SITE know of the problems that he is causing and where our money is going besides his bills.
I would pick anybody other this guy to run a site.

about 20 of those 30 times, the forum will not load, or a has a DB error (or is "shut down")
i never complain about this stuff but it does get annoying. i barely want to come back with all the other issues.. the other forums that im on never have this many problems. they arent as big but crap some are close and are never down.
