some friends and i are going to make a run to the gap before the leaves and the cops come out. we're going the prez day weekend as its four days for us (your tax payer dollars hard at work), we'll get there thursday night and prolly stay till monday morning.

I believe he's talking about "the Dragon" it's a stretch of highway in the hills on the NC/TN border... supposedly very cool...

 

Tell me more, I may be interested. If anyone has a street bike, that is a great stretch of highway to ride hard. Dumb question, but when is presidents day weekend?

I think I am going to run at Virginia International Raceway the 18th of Feb....unless it proves o be too expensive.

 

Street bike on that road can equal suicide if you aren't careful.... my good buddy lives up there.... many many motorcyclists killed there every year.

 

I live about 1 hour away from there, but havent been there yet. I'm in Knoxville TN. I have a Saturn Redline Black. Would it be ok if I joined you that Thursday or Friday?
Presidents Day is the Third Monday in February. So Prez day Weekend would Be Feb 17-20. The 20th being the Monday.

any one and every one can come, i will be in maryville thursday night playing cards at murphys pub on 411. i will come over thursday night and stay till monday as i have a place there. looks like there will be atleast a half dozen guys just with me.
i ride my yamaha r1 there in the summer, we are squeezing in a car weekend before 1 march and the leaves and cops come out. its not hard to be fast there on a bike, its hard to smart, you have to learn to ride your own ride, just like drive your own drive, some jackass german through a 250k porche over the edge this summer 50 feet from a cop working an accident (money dont make ya smart). the speed limit there used to be 55, now its 30, more guys die in recent years cause they dont bother to learn to ride and get in over there head. remember any new jap replica was what they were racing less then 4 years ago. last years r1 made about 180hp at the crank, thats about what moto gp was running in 1999 or 2000. ya my bike make more hp then a lot of cars and weights about 1/10th.
if you live in knoxville and you aint been there yet....your just wrong.
