STS turbo

they sell universal kits for around $2600 plus a couple other things and installation. Good thing is you dont need to upgrade your headers or DP.It doesnt install under your hood it installs near your muffler. i saw some dynos and it looks nice. I dont have the money for a garrett but anyone have experience with these?

Actually just put a twin turbo STS setup on a 1975 vette. Finished it about a week ago. So damn easy to install.

There is a guy on here that made good number with one, Hopfully he will find this thread.

But i do know that this will probably come out costing more than a turbo kit

then what would be the cheapest kit. i saw some on turbotechracing for 3,379 but this says its 2695 for all the neccesary installation parts of rhte garrett one on turbotechracing

I honestly dont know, I would watch for a used kit.

A turbo kit is NOT something to cheap out on, Its one of those things where you do it right the first time or your life will be hell

If you're not going to have to upgrade headers and downpipe, then ask yourself why would you pay about the same price as a regular turbo kit with the quicker spool of a direct mount turbo manifold?

There's nothing wrong with going STS, unless you wanna get technical. But, man save yourself some money and just custom make your own kit. All you have to do is get an exhaust shop to route the exhaust from the catback to the turbo exhaust inlet, and one from the outlet back to the muffler. Then, just figure out the charge piping with a universal kit for maybe $100 on ebay. Wrap all that in heat shield and route it up to your manifold. Same with the intake.

The only thing you may have trouble finding is the oil pump. But there are several companies that make scavenge pumps for like ~$200. Oil lines may be expensive since they're so long, but other than that it's a really cheap setup to do. Doing it custom you might spend 1800-2000 for a good turbo.

Those kits won't be custom tailored to your vehicle anyways, you know that.

I was planning on going STS by summer but I just got a CRX Shell I am putting my spare 2.2 into with a 4t45 and a gt35r, I am hoping to run 10's with meth.

WAIT sentry your saying 1800-2000 total for everything like turbo and all parts needed???? if so o my god.

I was also thinking of a supercharger kit but nobody is selling a full kit. but dunno.

Google "Junkyard turbo" most of those guys put together badass turbo kits for less than $500.

Yeah, and that's with a good turbo. Might wanna check around your local exhaust shops and see if anyone has done an STS setup before. Your mufler guy is probably going to be doing a lot of the work. Like I said, you're only thinker is getting the oil to the turbo, since gravity will not be enough to get it to your turbo and back. An oil scavenge pump is required.

We are an STS dealer and have designed and offer a kit for the Impala as well as a 928 Porshe. They work very well but the universal kits will NOT allow you to simply install a turbo on your car. All of the exhaust and boost tubing will need to be custom fabricated. Expect another $,1500.00 to $2500.00 in custom fabrication and install.

sts is what you wanna do great products talk to them at sema saw theyre premade kit quality. for the guy goin to ebay for piping and intercooler..... big mistake those intercoolers are inefficient and the endcaps are pretty much glued on and for the piping you might as well us pvc cus it will last longer then a ish on ebay. sts very trusted company i put one on a caddy v6 cts and it was a well fitting efficient kit unfortunetly no one at the time had tuning for it. avg wheel hp on sts cobalt with 7 psi is about 265. vince from trifecta and i were trying to put together prefab kits we just needed investors..... hasnt happend yet doubt it will but rear remote mount turbos are great no turbo mani or intercooler needed keeping cost to minimum and efficiency easy

Why dont you tell that to the 100's of dsm guys and evo guys and srt 4 guys etc. that have pushed those intercoolers to over 600hp with no problems?

That statement alone discredited everything else you posted

i might be selling mine.. how much would u wanna spend for everything? (supercharger, heat exchanger, intake,)

Not to mention that his 2.2 is not going to be pushing more than 250 hp, which means that really he doesn't even need an intercooler because he will only be running 7-8 psi max. Any intercooler, even the cheap ebay ones, are sufficient for us.

I've got an intercooler for sale - $150. Good for like 450-500hp. at 15psi, it'll drop less than .5psi.

STS setups are sick on any car. Ever heard an STS setup on a Vette or a Mustang GT? Absolutely ridiculous sounding. They sound like a ******* jet plane. Youtube it......I don't even like Mustangs, but the silver '06 GT with the STS setup video.....amazing.

ok i am looking to do this set up on my car and as far as the oil pump . do you need to replace the pump or tap into a line somewhere?
