ZZP LNF Update- New Track Times
ZZP LNF Update- New Track Times
We took the 08 SS/T to the track Friday night for some test/tune. The previous best time on this car was a 12.91 at 113.75. The only major change since then was a ZZP IC upgrade, and we started to bump the boost up a little. The track was busy tonight, and our race night started poorly. On the first pass, one of the clamps came off the charge tube right after the launch. We fixed that, but a different coupler came loose on the next pass. This time, it happened late enough in the pass that it didn't affect the ET much. This pass was a 12.841 @ 114.07, but should have had a bit more mph. For the next pass, Ryan got too aggressive off the line and spun bad. I think it was a 13.1 or something close to that. At this time, we decided to bolt on the slicks.
The first pass on slicks was a 12.56 @ 114 with a slow 2.1 sixty foot. This was without any tirespin, so it became obvious that we need to turn up the 1st gear desired air loads and also raise the park/neutral rev limiter to get more RPM at the line. On the next pass, Ryan stuck the launch, but had trouble getting second gear. (The shifter cables are not getting along with us very well in this car.) On this run, the sixty foot was a very nice 1.74! With a 114 trap, this would put us close to 11s. Unfortunately, it didn't work out that way. With the staging lanes closing, Ryan hotlapped and put down a nice burnout, but came off the line a little slow before the car came to life and put down a 1.82 sixty foot. He made a very conservative 1-2 shift and kept his foot planted on the 2-3. We knew this was going to be a nice run and the ET board confirmed it. 12.178 @ 114.18!
All in all, we are pleased with the progress with this car. We have a little ways to go to hit our 11 second stock turbo goal, but we are confident that we can get there.

I don't have all of the timeslips, but here is the timeslip for the best pass-

We have some video, but the processor is on my computer at the shop. I'll get over there and transfer it some time this weekend and get some videos posted.
Yes, it's always fun getting out to the race track. It's even more fun when we can put down some nice times.
Stock suspension with the rear springs blocked. 26x10" Mickey Thompson slicks.
