Where to fuel up?

Where do you midwest people get your gas at? The highest octane I can find at the pump is 92 in Des Moines. I hear people talk about running 93 and 94, but I have yet to come across it. Please list the octane you run and the Company/Gas Station you get it from.

I can get 100 octane from Gas City on Butterfield and Route 59!

Butterfield is also known as 56!

$4/gallon!

Well I use Phillips 66 & it's 91 & I have used amaco 93 or maybe it's 92 but I really didn't notice any differance & Phillips is cheaper.

I used both in my SC Tahoe & it ran great as does the Cobalt so I guess why do you want higher octane as I have seen no better MPG & you pay more?

Hi td -

I only use shell or phillips -

They are both listed as top-tier fuels by GM.

best regards -

Hey thanks for all the responses. It seems that Shell has some of the cleanest fuel so I think I will stick with that. I have been using Amoco/BP and it seems to be doing well, but I'll probably just fill up at Shell from now on. Thanks again.

BP and Shell are pretty good in my book. I have the toys on my SRT and if I use Shell or BP super, I can ride around in high octane mode which normaly only works with 100 octane or more without it kicking out. If I use anything else, the minute I see boost I get kicked out of HOM. Shell and BP are doing something right! Also for any guys around the Burbank area, the gas station on the corner of 87th and Central ave. carries 110 octane ...
