Cruise control not working...

Well, my first official problem with the car. My cruise control just decided to take a crap and is unresponsive when the button is pressed. If I press the button continuously it will flash "cruise enabled" but then quicky dissappear without engaging. Anyone else having this issue? It sucks really badly because I am currently in Columbus visiting friends and have a 4 hour drive ahead of me tomorrow...figures.

I have the same problem too. It started a few weeks ago. I took my car to the shop to have them check it out. They told me it is a faulty switch. They couldn't replace it because the damn thing is still on national backorder. You'll just have to deal with it until the part comes out. And I feel for you about the drive. I had to make a 7 to 8 hour each way drive without cruise last month.

This is a common problem with tons of posts regarding it. There are couple of things that can cause this:

1. The switch on the clutch pedal is bad.
2. The cruise control buttons or the cruise control itself is not working.

3. Most likely - you are driving with your foot on the clutch. This causes the car to throw a code because the clutch pedal always has pressure on it. You have to have the code cleared then the cruise control will work again. However if you still keep driving with your foot on the clutch the code will come right back.

You are most likely riding the clutch and it activates a clutch malfunction code. I had the same problem and onstar let me know what was wrong. I took it to the dealer and they cleared the code and it hasnt happened again.

Well I got it fixed, it ended up being a clutch adjustment. I wasnt riding the clutch at all, I was actually pulling the clutch back towards me trying to get it to work at one point lol. At least it was an easy fix...

yea, if you rest your foot on the clutch while driving it well set this off. easiest fix, don't rest your foot on the clutch pedal while driving, that's a big nono.

Just unhook your battery for a couple minutes and it will be fine

I had it too.

Take your foot and Pull your brake pedal up. It may be stuck down 1/4" and stopping the cruse from working. Thats what the problem with mine was..
