Hey, I know theres alot of stuff on Ebay but I'm looking to see if there's any local shops / importers where I could get a set of those projector headlights and a set of HID's. I know this is a bit off-topic for this thread but I'd really like to pay the extra buck and get some stuff I know is gonna work and isnt cracked / scratched so I can go back and lay the smack down if theres a problem :P I'm also scoping out a CAI so anywhere local that would carry a good brand of one of those would be cool too.

Any tips?

As I said I can always go Ebay but I prefer to go and buy stuff, maybe I'm neurotic

 

Don't know of anything locally especially for the Projectors. there is a group buy on right now for the projectors, really nice product, got mine in just yesterday. I haven't found anything locally for the CAI either.

 

for the CAI Ice maid,use turbotechracing,thats who we use,they are in the vendorsection,I think it was 240 to the door,also alot of people are doing the airbox mod

 

Airbox mod. I wish I would have saved my money and did it that way.

 

I may be mistaken but I've heard the airbox mod's not really the best idea on the SC. Would the pipe following the airbox now draw cooler air? I know this isn't exactly a big horsepower thing but if I'm gonna be sucking in hotter air just to sound cooler (pun not intended) I'd rather just spend the money and get a proper CAI. Any thoughts?

 

How is the air hotter? The air box mod is just removing the bottom of the airbox, getting an AEM filter, and using a clamp to make sure the filter doesn't fall out. All the piping stays the same just as with a CAI.

 

Ah ok, I was under the impression there was additional piping beyound the airbox. I have to admit due to the weather and my garage being a mess I haven't actually had a chance to do too much digging under the hood yet. I guess I'm still stuck in 'Prelude mode' where the airbox was right next to the throttle body and there was a maze/octopus of piping and resonators going to it lol.

I'll throw it up on the hoist at the garage I worked at and take a peek this weekend and possibly whip out the dremel tool.

Last question, to save myself some time: What diameter cone filter would I need for this? Sure I could measure if I could go pick one up before taking / hacking everything apart that would make life a little easier.

*edit: now that I've looked at some of these CAI's they do seem to just position the filter right where the airbox is so forget my previous comment. :P

 

hey im selling my hid kit if ur interested :P it only works with the stock headlight unit tho...not sure about projectors, but it will work as long as it is 9007, let me know if you are interested the kit is brand new
