I've bought one for my 2,0 SS / SC and will receive it on tuesday.
I've bought one for my 2,0 SS / SC and will receive it on tuesday.
It's fitted to the stock profile of the exhaust manifold. Every 2.0L LSJ has the exact same exhaust manifold, weather it's a RedLine or CobaltSS it will fit either vehicle.
As for the 2.4L LE5 we have verified that the header we are offering for it does in fact fit like it's supposed to.

It looks pretty good, and a nice deal to boot with the lifetime warranty and upgrade.

Dyno test date Jan 22 2005.
Dynojet Dyno Located in Lancaster Ca. 3 hours and 1 Double Double between the stock and header run - everything else stock, 2004 RedLine. ~2460 ASL, 60 Deg F, 4th gear pull, 1.07 correction factor. I have a full OBDII log of the runs too.
While this is the highest performance gain dyno around others (WopOnTour) have reported 14 HP and we guarentee 10% peak. - We're waiting for another dyno from a customer to post that backs up this dyno.

That's a 2.0L LSJ dyno as I assumed this thread was leaning that way. We are still waiting on a dyno for the 2.4L LE5 to post.

Thats a link to the word doc included with the hardware outlining the install and about 95% the same as the Factory Service Manual outlines for an exhaust manifold replacement procedure.
SCE copper head flange gasket is included with the SCdyne Header and the rest of the stock hardware is retained and re-used on the header.

It costs more to make a header in the USA of quality materials and workmanship than it does to make a POS anywhere. So if you are looking for a POS price youll get a POS product. Seriously, the available products are priced within the market and are made of a quality that can afford that price. Its the only engine GM is offering in the future, any money made through sales of headers goes back into product development for the engine.

Anyway, SEMA is coming up soon, so hopefully after that we will see supply go up thus causing the prices to go down!

Tell me SEMA is coming up soon, our products are on a few vehicles this year and for the next 2 weeks it will be 3 hours of sleep a night and the rest installing parts, tracking down cars, and picking up or dropping off. It's crunch time.
To be honest we have already dropped the price as low as it should go and still be in business at $399. The only way it would be less expensive would be to produce 100 at a time - something the manufacturer can't handle (nor can I afford) - or cut back on the details to save cost. A Crushed collector will lower the price a few bucks, but then it will make less power - I know I tested it and other companies have gone that route proving it makes less power. -Also we could sell painted products for less or a product made of thinner material, but both cases will result in a product that only lasts 6 months to a year before it falls apart.
I understand the need to have inexpensive parts, but for me its not an area I wish to get involved in. I would rather make a better product with the most power and reward my customers with more products in the future.

Your header sounds like a great deal - have you considered 304 stainless
winter on the great lakes is salty and every experience with ceramic is interesting
in particular - if you continue to modify and wrench on vehicle your bound to chip them
then possibility of decay enters
what about 304 stainless with ceramic inside

See this is the great part. We started the project with the intent of 304 stainless and all of the pre-production headers were 304 stainless. The problem is that only one guy at the manufacturer can TIG weld 304 stainless well so on a production level it's very expensive. I searched for other sources that could build them in volume out of 304 stainless, but they were too expensive to allow for any retailer involvement.
It would be VERY hard to ceramic coat just the inside of 304 Stainless, but some people have just had the 304 header ceramic coated. They were all delivered in machine finish and it's not bling-bling so the ceramic coating provides the look and thermal protection.
So for now volume production is ceramic coated mild steel, but we have a basically one-off run of 304 stainless headers available. They are more expensive, but if a person wanted 304 stainless it can be and has been done.
