So I was going home lastnight and there was a Red Z28 in the lane next to me and we were going 60mph thru this speedzone. Once we passed that area he took off so I did as well and I passed him with ease! I dont know if he didnt have it floored or what but I stopped at 120mph and he kept going. Looked like he had an after market exhaust. Anyways, it made me happy. Just thought I would share.

The "newer" z28 with the ls1 and a six speed runs a low thirteen. But it could have been an "older" "newer" camaro with the lt1 thats not as strong as the "newer" camaro.

depends on what gears he hade. those things can be monsters,throw some patriot heads on it, and some cams... but i've taken down my share to.

your car MIGHT be able to run a 14.5 , Camaros run 13.5's with a shittie driver

LS1 Camaro / Trans Am are maybe a car slower than LS2 GTO's

your stock Cobalt couldnt touch a 5.7L GTO much less a 6.0 GTO therefore this story is bullshit

 

I have no doubt it could beat me in the 1/4 but this wasnt from a dead stop. It was a rolling start of about 60 mph

Well it appears I am not the only who has beat a Z28. So all I can say is dont knock it til you try it.

 

lets see i had an SS/SC with a 2.6 pulley custom BCP tune, 60 lbers full 3 inch header back exhaust and a stock ls1 camaro was still pulling me,trust me buddy i know alot more about this car than you do and am about 1 year ahead of you in experience with the cobalt , and thats 1 year was enough to know that the cobalt is slow compared to RWD V8 GM muscle

ive raced my firend lt1 with a 3inch cat back... an i had smm tbars and an intake an i beat him from a 40 roll.. the track forget it... but ive done it, its more of a drivers race from a roll but i was the victor at the end after about 10 pulls to about 110 it ends up me being about a door panel ahead.... ******* v-8s and there dam strong top end lol pulls like a ****** freight train

 

Yea, I have to say that was my first race on the road. I've only had my car for about 2 months now and it was great. I stopped at 120mph cause he was starting to pass me but from 60mph - 120mph I was ahead. It was cool.
