On a local forum, we found the best fix for excessive post whoring was a post count reset. A moderator would just set your post count to a more realistic number if you got carried away. Stopped all the useless blabbering just to fill up internet space.

Farewell exp system.

true, but there shouldn't be a need for that to even happen, considering we are all adults.

on another forum I was in, they only counted posts in the important sections and other sections didn't count towards your post count. so you can post all day in the lounge or for sale section. and those posts wouldn't count towards your total.

Yeah most forums do that in the marketplace so you can't post ***** in there.

Honestly post count is kinda pointless overall, but some people really need to see that big number to feel accomplished.
