Yeah, but you have to take into account the fact that it is a substitution on a brand new vehicle Cobalt SS. The cost is partially offest by the standard wing not being used.
Seems very logical to me..
thats alota money for a reaaaaaally ugly wing... better off going aftermarket with something more aesthetically pleasing and to set your car apart from the other SSs that came with it. Just my OPINION, but I cant stand the huge ass wings on the SS, STI, Evo etc. These cars arent fast enough to make good use of all that downforce. Theres even a thread on here somewhere stating that the high rise even lowers top speed by some 5-10+mph. Better off spending your cash on a short throw shifter, or exhaust.
that is ridiculous...to have as an option...$195.00....to buy its $540.00 then like anothe 60 for labor and then tax and all that...(where i bought mine)
i have the low pro...looked at the high rise....now would like to find someone to trunk swap with...i wanna go wingless.....

O.. and all joking aside, your comment about the downforce with the wing is truly a sign of your ignorance. The high rise on the SS Balts are fully functional and add a lot of downforce to the car.
There was a whole thread a while back about this.
Many accounts from other users who have taken their SSs up to around 150 MPH. Some with wing, some without, some experienced both.
Those drivers who had the high rise then either low pro or no wing all said there was a HUGE difference at higher speeds.
Few of em stated how "scary" it was at 150 MPH without the wing..could really feel the car moving around.
lets get facts straight and not turn our opinions into them, or at least try. But don't worry dude, there will always be someone like me who actually knows WTF they are talking about to correct you.
Have a good day.
And o yeah... O NO I CAN ONLY GO 150MPH INSTEAD OF 155MPH WITH MY BIG OL UGLY HIGH RISE!
EDIT: I am just curious... our SSs top out at around 150-160 MPH.....you stated that Along with our Balt SSs, the EVO, STI etc etc are not fast enough cars to even need a wing. I was just curious.... how much did you pay for your Ferrari that you use as a daily driver? What?! You don't have a Ferrari...or ANY supercar for that matter?! OMG... I mean, for someone such as yourself to say that a car(s) that can get up to 150 MPH pretty quickly are not fast enough to even require a wing...I assume you drive a vehicle that can safely hit 200 MPH + on the road? So what is it man? Lambo, Ferrari, Aston?????
PIX PLEASE!
^ Wow, someone has a boner for the high rise spoiler.. Your adolescent 3 paragraph hissy fit speaks for itself my friend. Why don't you sign up for a class in aerodynamics over there at Michigan State and bless us with some more of your expertise in this subject? And just because your speedo says 160mph, does not mean the car goes that fast out of the box. They are limited to about 140 or so if im not mistaken.
(sorry mods, I couldnt keep quiet on that one)
Moving on..
Unless the thread poster lives over seas and hits the autobahn everyday, I see no point in spending $400-something dollars on a wing which serves no purpose for everyday "real life" driving. These cars aren't that quick fellas. Instead, spend it on go fast parts that will enable the car to make use of such a large spoiler. OK, so if it is a spoiler you desire, get something else, then you wont look like every other stock SS owner who's vehicle came with it. Call me crazy, but I think you can find something to set yourself apart via the aftermarket.. But I would definitely try to purchase one pre owned if it is the OEM SS wing you want.

Kudos to you though for a smart eye on styling, as the SS looks reeeaalllyy bland and boring w/o it.
And according to an article I posted a while back, you only lose 5 mph in top speed with the hi-pro but gain a good amount of down force.
For the SS it's ... Hi-Pro or No-Go!
