Ok after seeing the turbo balt upclose and personal, I gotta say its pretty cool. I would still take a sc balt over a turbo any day though. Just looking under the hood and seeing the 6.9 miles of piping makes me cringe. Even installing a CAI will be a complete bitch on that car. Plus the turbo is squashed next to the fire wall behind the engine. Not to mention is super tiny (look for my SEMA thread here in a couple days, nothing but SEMA pics). Anywho, other than that, its pretty sick. Interior looks completely unchanged from current 07 model. Its got small spoiler, and the same front/rear bumper and side skirts, and the same ss badges. Except instead of the little silver "supercharged" badge, its got one that looks almost identical, but says "turbocharged". I didn't really like that, because there is no differenciation between the sc and tc cars. However, the yellow on the tc balt is 10000X better than the sc. It is one of the most sexy colors I've ever seen!!!! Its the same basic yellow, except it has metal flakes in it, its just beautiful!!!! You have to see it in real life to understand All in all, pretty good car. I can't wait to demolish them on the streets

Looking at those wheels closer , they look almost exactly like my 2002 Z24 wheels only they are bigger and aren't chrome. Anyone else notice that or am i blind.
EDIT: I guess they have a couple of differences , but i guess we know where the design originated .

That is a special yellow GM puts on their concept cars. It was on the 03-05 Yellow Turbosport Cavalier concept car. Beautiful paint, I recall one article saying the paintjob was worth more than J-Lo's ass.
I actually recently purchased the ENTIRE drivetrain from the Silver Turbosport concept cavalier. 2.2 Ecotec, GM tuned PCM, Full turbo kit/dp with 321stainless tubular header, Garrett T28, ported head, nitrided journals and magnafluxed crank, trans w/ centerforce clutch all done by Wheel to Wheel performance for GM. I'll definetly make a thread here and on jbody.org when its done. Theres much more to the car, but I've hijacked enough already.

Dude, I hate to tell you but the Cavalier was not the first car to have 10 spoke rims. If you're going to compare the new rims to another car, why not the Z06 rims? Those look more like the new SS/TC ones than those Cavalier ones you posted.

I didn't read through all of those comments but I dont know if anybody else noticed but the yellow paint on the car is flake. I am a huge fan of flake paint. Hopefully some of the other colors come in flake as well.

I rather like the cobalt interior the way it is. I don't like the way all the car companies are going to this futuristic-retro interiors. The only things that should be changed, is what we are all hoping for, the silver interior trim. And the necessity of a leather wrapped e-brake.

The suspension has the same model number on the new SS as the current one. That would lead one to beleive that any current market lowering spring (ie: SSC, Sportline) will work fine.

You sure?? The double spokes bend out a tad from the lugs then level off as the spoke goes to the "lip"... the current SS wheel does the bend a tad closer to the lip... Now I know what you're saying could be done with the current wheels, but keep in mind these are supposed to be 18" x 7.5" for production. Hopefully they didn't re-cut current inventory wheels (though that would help with weight). Pray they are "all new wheels"...

Does anyone think that the new wheels could be an attempt to eliminate wheel hop? Or is that impossible? Somebody mentioned that they would be lighter, and the idea popped in my head. Does anyone w/ lighter aftermarket rims notice any reduction in wheel hop, or am I just wishful thinking?
