these guys sure like to dust a lot, ~350 miles worth of driving, all you guys that want gunmetal rims just drive the normal ones around for a week...and there you go

You should see the rear wheels after a few 30mph reverse runs!

JohnnySasakiMGS 06-28-2008 09:45 AM

Thats what I love about gunmetal rims. They always look dusty!

stealthy1ss 06-28-2008 09:56 AM

If you put tire shine on your tires you could have got some on your wheels which would attract and hold on to brake dust a lot more.

krispy 06-28-2008 10:04 AM

I haven't put any shine on for 2 weeks (or cleaned the car for that matter, but thats because its rained pretty much everyday for the last 2 weeks), but I have cleaned the wheels 2-3 times.

dodge2chevy 06-28-2008 10:06 AM

1600 miles on my t/c i stoped trying to make the rims look perfect all the time after like 700 miles now its 1ce a week cleaning.

once u change the pads it'll be noticably cleaner...GM brakes SUCK big time

these once kick ass, but most pad material that kicks ass also dusts like a bitch

REIGN SS 06-28-2008 12:06 PM

I read about someone using Rain-X on there rims and it keeps brake dust from sticking so it's easier to clean....

krispy 06-28-2008 12:09 PM

yea, wax works too

i switched to cheap autozone Duralast Gold pads and rotors and theres barely any dust and the quality is WAY better than stock...hardly any warping or pulsating and im HARD on my brakes

TorontoSS 06-28-2008 02:54 PM

just out of curiosity, what kind tires did they put on this car

Sadly, continentals.......

IsItFast? 06-28-2008 03:22 PM

Yeah brake dust is a bitch on these wheels, especially if you drive hard.

sporttintturbo 06-28-2008 07:15 PM

yep it sure is. i got 3300 miles on my t/c n i clean mine constantly

chris88z24 06-28-2008 07:21 PM

Wheel wax ftw. :) I have polished 18's, they are even harder to keep clean than those. Wheel wax works wonders.
