thats odd. the chevy site had the ss/tc listed as a 2008 cobalt ss. and my printed order form with pricing and options that i got last month from the dealer says 2008 cobalt ss turbo. i had my 2.4L cobalt built late last june and it was still a 2007. the 2008 models didnt hit the showrooms till about october, i figure they were being built august the earliest. i know some other manufacturers will put out their 2009 models in june or so but chevy waits untill its closer to the acutal year it is to relase their new years models. i guess we'll find out

It seems to me that Gm is putting this one out a little late for an '08 and earlly as an '09.
So let's just call it an 2008 1/2 Turbo SS. I'm not that jelious of it, My stage 2 from what dyno test i've seen you guys post should be right around 250hp, and I don't give a **** about 10hp, I do like the idea of launch control, better half shafts and (clutch?) But I think the No lift Shift is GM's attempt to make driving a stick IDIOT proof. That way these jokers down at the track that can't drive to save there life won't go home feeling bad that there low 14 sec car just ran 16.........
sorry for the rant but I haven't been on in 10months

i remember hearing in here somewhere that the no-lisft-shift can only be used in competition mode and the dealer will have to reflash the ecu everytime you use it. im not sure really about the details but if tht is the case i probably wont be using this feature ever. drive real stick shift and master it. no lift kinda sounds like cheating to me anyways

As much as I have given thought to trading in my '05 for the '08, I will wait for the '09... Reason you ask? White will be available(with a few other colors), the programmable gauge will be an option, the black wheels should be available, more aftermarket parts, hopefully Stage kits, and I DON'T PURCHASE EVEN YEAR MODELS ANYMORE... The '09 will look very good as a daily driver next to the '09 V SERIES...
