smh, sounds like the mechanics are beating around the bush. not gonna be able to see the cracks visible im betting. and no **** it wouldnt be a turbo line, you didnt have any visible leaks right? hope they warranty it, if not, wtf is the point for an extended warranty -___- good luck bud.

If he gets hosed on his extended warranty it'll re-confirm what I've always thought about them. Everyone I've personally known with one has gotten the shaft. I hope you have a difference experience.

The last time one was pitched to me they had several levels of coverage, but I want to say the top level was over a grand? Granted that was at a dealer in the finance office they pitched it.

LMAO your dealership is a bunch of f*cking retards.

i took my dealership 3 days... oil sample was sent in and engine components inspected.

4 weeks and they can't spot the problem which should be blatently obvious.. they should have their mechanics licenses revoked. either there is a crack somewhere or bad gaskets/warped head. i don't think it gets more complicated than that. coolant mixing with oil can only occur so many ways..

sounds like they are trying to avoid having to pay.

and a new engine shouldn't be 7k... haha

What idiots. This is exactly why GM has the reputation they do. Their dealers should be part of the company and not independently owned and operated by morons.

Sorry but reading stories like this after being treated the exact same way just pisses me off. **** them. Don't bother with the GM Customer Service on here either because all they do is take your info and add it to their database for record-keeping purposes. They don't actually do anything to help you.

I'd just say screw it and buy an LDK block and new head.

Third party warranties have to be one of the biggest scams around.

Oh, this is a third-party warranty claim?

Two, no, three words: best of luck.

GM ******* crashed my car on their watch and refused to fix it. Good luck getting them to fix an engine, third party or otherwise.

this is why i never bought a warranty with any of my cars. too much bullshit coming from them. cancel the warranty and get any money back that you can, if you can. and put it towards a zzp fund lol.

1500+shipping = LDK block
300+shipping = LNF head
65 and some change i think gets you a new water pump youll need
200ish for timing kit i think? pretty sure they have one for the whole top end rebuild, gaskets and all.

then swap that **** yourself. boom, bam, done.

They wont find an LNF. Has to be a LDK or LHU. Tell them engine code LDK.

honestly it doesnt matter which one he goes with. they both are the same minus the LHU is ready for e85. they both are a slightly higher CR than the LNF.

explain to them that the LNF has weak coolant passages and are known to crack, but the the LHU and LDK were revised and had 5lbs of aluminum added to it for more strength. try explaining those exact words to them and hope they go with the better one......all i can suggest.
