2009 ss Broke sedan cracked block?
update: Adjuster will hopefully in Monday to decide weather they will honor my warranty or not dealer cannot find any obvious cracks or damage turbo coolant lines good cylinder walls good head was good and not warped keep my fingers crossed and get this nightmare overwith
smh, sounds like the mechanics are beating around the bush. not gonna be able to see the cracks visible im betting. and no **** it wouldnt be a turbo line, you didnt have any visible leaks right? hope they warranty it, if not, wtf is the point for an extended warranty -___- good luck bud.
If he gets hosed on his extended warranty it'll re-confirm what I've always thought about them. Everyone I've personally known with one has gotten the shaft. I hope you have a difference experience.
The last time one was pitched to me they had several levels of coverage, but I want to say the top level was over a grand? Granted that was at a dealer in the finance office they pitched it.
if they cover it it will be worth a 7k motor and labor cost lol i only got it because i knew i may have a bad block it was like 1.4k and if they decline they refund it and i put it towards a motor after i start a shitstorm with GM HQ for **** manufacturing and **** warrenty
so new update 4 weeks now dealer says they dont know how they can breakdown the motor any further to diagnose it and warranty company will not cover it until they have a definative failure
i took my dealership 3 days... oil sample was sent in and engine components inspected.
4 weeks and they can't spot the problem which should be blatently obvious.. they should have their mechanics licenses revoked. either there is a crack somewhere or bad gaskets/warped head. i don't think it gets more complicated than that. coolant mixing with oil can only occur so many ways..
sounds like they are trying to avoid having to pay.
and a new engine shouldn't be 7k... haha
What idiots. This is exactly why GM has the reputation they do. Their dealers should be part of the company and not independently owned and operated by morons.
Sorry but reading stories like this after being treated the exact same way just pisses me off. **** them. Don't bother with the GM Customer Service on here either because all they do is take your info and add it to their database for record-keeping purposes. They don't actually do anything to help you.

Oh, this is a third-party warranty claim?
Two, no, three words: best of luck.
GM ******* crashed my car on their watch and refused to fix it. Good luck getting them to fix an engine, third party or otherwise.

7k after labor cost but either way im pretty pissed i told them before i dropped the car off what the issue was i called gm custoemr service should hear from them today for the region manager for all the dealers in the area see how that goes im not spending a dime if i dont need to if i get screwed and the warrenty company declines i will take a refund for my coverage and put it towards a engine.

1500+shipping = LDK block
300+shipping = LNF head
65 and some change i think gets you a new water pump youll need
200ish for timing kit i think? pretty sure they have one for the whole top end rebuild, gaskets and all.
then swap that **** yourself. boom, bam, done.
they have 1 new LNF and 1 used also the warrenty company said they sourced one im going to push for ldk or lhu butt there going with the cheapest oen with the best warrenty so it all comes down to money i should hear from them today on which replacment they will choose
explain to them that the LNF has weak coolant passages and are known to crack, but the the LHU and LDK were revised and had 5lbs of aluminum added to it for more strength. try explaining those exact words to them and hope they go with the better one......all i can suggest.
man ispentl ike 10 mins yesterday trying to get him to under stand lhu lima hotel uniform and he thought i was talking about a engine manufacture company >> i explaiend it like 8 times and still got no where ... my friend works sales there and knwos about cars so ill get him to ask the mechanic to recommend it
so new update im gettign a reman LNF bad news is the service manager has no idea what a gmstage 1 is and argued with me they dont do aftermartet tunes even tho i insisted the gms1 can be flashed with a tech 2 >> he also tried to insiste he works on 20+ turbo sedans a year
