2010 cobalt ss 22k miles, warranty?

Hello everybody. I am new to this forum, but I am not new to cobalts. I have had 06 ls and an 07 ss/sc. I have been reading through the forums for the past couple days and have been looking at issues that show up on the car and most people have seem to gotten them fixed through warranty. At first I was leaning away from a warranty but am now leaning towards one.

I am in the process of purchasing a red 2010 cobalt ss with 22100 miles on it. I have the option to get a warranty with my loan. I was wondering if anybody thought that was a good idea or a waste of money. Also since it is a 2010 does the car still come with some of the factory warranty or does that not apply since I am not the first owner and am not buying it new?

I am looking at about 800-1100 $ for the warranty with a 100-250$ deductible, cover everything except normal wear items. 48 months or 60k miles

should have balance of 5 year 100k mile warranty for powertrain 2nd owner or not. but if you have the money $1000 isn't bad for piece of mind.

You still have a remaining power train warranty.

Is it GM warranty you're buying or is the coverage provided by some unrelated third party? There are a lot of semi-scam warranties for sale, where at the very least they give you an impossible time whenever you try to claim something. Also if you plan on modding the car, that's another consideration since stuff may no longer be covered.
I initially bought an extended warranty when I bought my 2010 SS (brand new). Then canceled and cashed it in after a year and bought bolt-ons with the money ;-)

It is a warranty through my credit union that we have a very good relationship with so I know it is not a scam, also I am pretty sure my brother has used it before. Also I do understand about the modding but that will not be for a while.

Best thing to do is read all of the fine print on this third party warranty to see what it does and does not cover and what if any deductibles there are

I have a warranty through my credit union. They paid half the cost of my LDK block knowing the car was tuned because GM lied to me and told me my tune was GMS1 and let me blow it up. It actually covers quite a few things. If yours is the same I'd do it.

Yeah I bought my car and still have factory power train until 4/30 this year, but I opted to get another warranty for 85k miles and I forgot the year span. But its a nice piece if mind. I mean what's 1000 - 1500 in a loan for 5 years? Like $20 a month extra maybe? Ultimately your decision. But I'm good til 145k miles lol

Ok, looks like I'll most likely be getting the warranty. Just which to choose. Any input of what would be a better idea for these cars? I am looking at

1363$ for 60 months or 75,000 miles with a 100$ dollar deductible, or

1332$ for 48 months or 60,000 miles with no deductible

I am thinking I drive around 8k a year or so give or take, so either way Ill be covered. Just wondering if it is worth to get more time with a deductible or less time with none.

I have not gotten to look at the car in person, but my dad has. He said everything looks pretty good but their is a couple small things like their is some moisture in the right headlight which I have read is a problem with balts. I am thinking that would be covered under the extended warranty as I would be getting the platinum which is the highest one which covers everything except maintenance and normal wear.

But I'm wondering with stuff like that, is it worth having a deductible when you would pay for most of the "repair". Or other things like passenger power window going slow, sunroof needing adjusted, door rubbing off paint. Seems like a lot of stuff mentioned on here would be more lowered price stuff where a deductible seems like not too good of an idea.
