2010 Stage 1 incredible
2010 Stage 1 incredible
Hello Everyone.... My 06 SS/SC with Recaros just went back from a 4 year lease and was very happy with her so I took advantage of the June incentives and bought a Blk 2010 SS/TC with dealer installed Stage 1 and a high wing. I also have owned a 1990 Lotus Esprit SE turbo for 10 years and I know what fast feels like and I'm here to tell everyone that the stage 1 is incredible ! This thing pulls like it's got a V8 under the hood. 25 lbs peak boost and 22 lbs steady is like you got rear ended by a semi. Under the right conditions third gear will chirp the tires. This kit elevates this car into a new class of fast. After I break the engine in I'll be gunnin for a few people I know.
Hiiiiiighly recommend.
Cheers

Just saying... Its only a taste of what this car can do. Want to see really incredible, ride in a car with a real tune. /thread.
i'm happy with GMS1 as well.. the majority of people that seem to be having stage 1 issues are the ones with other slight mods done to their car... don't ask me how because i'm no expert but there's a reason i haven't touched a downpipe or intake yet. There's really nothing wrong with what it came with and the extra 10-15 hp isn't worth the trouble or fighting with a dealer for a warranty claim. Alot of people bought the SS because it had a warranty so if people really wanted to go faster because they had enough money to void their warranty without caring then why didn't they just buy something used with alot more potential? lets face it most cars don't do mid to low 13's and still get 30-40mpg and maintain their 160,000km warranty without blowing up drivetrain parts so quit hating on the GMS1 guys!
Congrats on the purchase!! it really does make the car alot more fun to drive and for the average joe who doesn't drive a sports car... it does feel incredible! i took my gf's friend for a ride last night and they were holding the seat everytime i got onto it. They even made a point of bitching at the car in front of us going slow because it was "cutting into their cobalt time" haha "this thing makes me smile because it's like a jet taking off" .. some guy even yelled at us from his porch as we went by... "get onto that thing! it sounds awesome!!!"
I have stage 1 with mods, the issue is bad installs of the stage 1 sensors or the mods they add on poorly.
Not everyone needs 330-350whp
I'm happy sitting at 300 or right below for now, road course racing needs more suspension than power, otherwise I'd be spinning tires out of corners

hey man props to you for your mods and time slips you definately did it right but unfortunately you are one of the lucky few who has a dealership that doesnt try to screw you out of a warranty everytime something goes wrong.. Besides that some people like their transmissions in one peice for the sake of being a little slower..
. Believe me ill consider an aftermarket tune later but for now this is plenty fast for alot of people

Thats great buddy but you are missing the point here..as i said before the gms1 is a mid to low 13 second car which is faster than alot of cars on the road .. And considering its a cobalt.. That IS incredible regardless if its aftermarket tuned or not. It may not seem incredible to someone who has a faster car but to the average joe getting into a cobalt and hitting 13s easy it is! The speed difference isnt worth the trouble for alot of people.
point is, lets spend lots of money for something slower.
i made 332 whp and 393 wtq last year what noaw byt brah
And I totally agree, spend double the money on less power then hype it up like it's the ****. Congrats on that one lol.
