Am I retarded? Please tell me if I am...

I'm a DSMer at heart. Therefore...I really love my turbos.....

I'm working on possibly getting the Cobalt SS/TC. Been talking with a salesman for a few days now. I would be getting $15k trade in on my 07 ss/sc....I still owe $18k...so getting an ss/tc with all the options I would be financing $24k for the car, adding on an additional $3k...so financing $27k. BUT...I will be able to take advantage of the 2.9% apr, and ditch the 7.9% that I'm paying now...so my payments will stay roughly the same, although I would be paying an extra year (I have a little over 3 years left on my 07)

Give it to me straight. Am I retarded? I will love everything about the ss/tc better (especially having a silver balt ) except that I will be losing my heated leather seats. Thats honestly my biggest holdback right now. Second biggest is that I've already put so much money into my 07...intake, full exhaust, stage 2, tint, etc.... thats all stuff I'd have to do all over again, along with paying sales tax all over again...

I dunno guys. I'm up in the air about it.

mmm. sounds like if it is something you REALLY want then do it. mods can always come back to you. and if you were feeling adventurous you could even make the seat heated...haha...

Wait until a test drive, then make the decision.

if i was you i'd stick with the ss/sc. you still owe a lot and you can probably keep close to a ss/tc with a stage2 and some supporting mods.

Wait for the '09 SS/tc... I'd like to see how they are doing before considering. I'd like to see what type, if any, problems people experience with the new engine. Granted the same engine is in the Solstice GXP/Sky Redline, but in a different configuration (RWD vs FWD).

If you want crazy too much power for a FWD car power get the SS/TC

You wont be able to have that power until HPT comes out with full access to the ECM though.

when you trade in your ss/sc youll only be paying a portion of the sales tax since you already paid for it on the ss/sc

thats what the sales lady told me

You are upside down right now, just for that reason, make bigger payments on your car or if you got a nice tax return drop some of it on that, but personally I would get right side up first, I've been saving for a down payment on a new car for about 6 months now, and since I heard about the 08 ss I figured I would pick one up

Going by the OP's mod list, the TC SS may have a few more horses on it. I'd say it would be an even match.

It's still the same car and same body style, now with different seats and couple different features. Maybe it's just me but buying the same kind of car twice that looks damn near the same is retarded.

I'd let them shake the bugs out in the first production year , then if they live up to all the hype do it in 09.

Lol, yea not worth it. Unless U think a few more HP, No lift shift, fake recaro's, and diff rims are worth it.

IMHO, I wouldn't doit.

Now if your were talking about the Camaro.... thats a diff story!
