Any problems with trifecta?

Has anyone run into any problems with the trifecta? I was going to hold off until the gm stage kit but **** that... its never gonna come out..july now then in july novemberand so on. but yea my buddy had an 08 street tune, dp, intake, and ic piping. Went to the track and at the end of his run went to put it in 4th to slow down.instead put it in 2nd and blew the motor, and got it fix under warrenty. So I'm just going aftermarket.
Thanks in advance!!!

We have great breaks....no need to downshift IMO

But i have had no problems with my tune at all! Very impressed with it. Should be re-tuning soon!

He's used to driving a truck.. a big rig to be exact... well so am I but I don'tbrake with the engine in the car. That's good to hear though all the more reason to get tuned.

Damn blew the motor at the track on a mis-**** and they warrantied. I bet you told a good lie. How did they not check logs and see that you over revved.

Based on the numbers the tune is putting out, I don't think you're going to see a lot of immediate failures of any kind, the LNF is well built. That said if anything IS going to go wrong I suspect it will be a year or two down the road depending how hard the car is driven. I suspect some of the tolerances are being tested and may lead to premature wear, but there's no proof from anyone that the tune is safe or unsafe since it's way too early in its lifecycle.

Only problems Vince told me they have ever had was with the 08's clutch not being up to par for the power he was getting from his tunes. But that is obviously NOT trifecta's problem... That being said, I LOVE MY TRIFECTA TUNE! I have had no problems related to it at all.

Just the 08's? I don't see how it would be any different for the 09's...seems that the clutch might be a problem for all SS/TC's...

^^^ yeah, the clutch is the weak link across the line... The thing I love about my tune was that Vince took the time to work out all of the initial kinks via data logging... it is like getting your own customized tune...

My clutch hates my tune ( custom tune) It cannot stand 375 wrtq very well.
If you want to prolong the life of you clutch make sure you dont floor it at low rpms in 4th or 5th gear or even third at less than 3K or so that will reduce the chances of the clutch slipping.

Problem free with my Trifecta tune for almost 2000 miles now. I couldn't be happier with the results....and it is easily the best deal out there.

No issues here other than what sounds like occasional knock the last two weeks which seems to be heat related. Outside temps here have been around 105F+ the last two weeks and if I hit full boost in that weather it sounds like it's knocking...only when I go WOT at full boost. I can be near full boost at part throttle and the noise isn't present.

BUT we've had rain and it's been completely overcast the past two days with temps in the mid 70's and the noise is not present if I go WOT in this weather. Car also feels like it pulls a bit stronger but a 30+ degree temp drop makes a big difference, heh. If it's not knock I don't know what the noise is, maybe my BPV flaking out from the increased pressure...it doesn't seem to affect performance when the noise occurs but knock is the closest thing I can relate it to.

Ironically enough, mine runs great in the heat, but had some knocking issues during the colder winter days. Now that the warmer weather has returned, it seems to have gone away. I also had it tuned when it was 110 degrees out. I'm thinking these cars don't take to drastic climate changes all that well.

My tune is not Trifecta, though, so I'm not sure if they compensate for that or not. (or if they even can)

ah mail order or not vince does tune it directly for your car if you will take it a dyno and have access to a computer for logs and such.
