Still have drivetrain loss through the trans/etc. It's not a engine dyno.

I'd would assume it was a c5 z06 because ain't no stock turbo or even slightly bigger turbo putting 5 cars on a c6 z06 without the c6 z06 having a crappy driver ( which is possible it is the street I assume where anything can happen. ) If it was a c6 I would imagine it was a c6 Grand Sport which kinda look like the z06 and are still a 116 trap.

I thought that was to the crank. My buddy has a GTI stage 2 and the people (according to my friend) said the K04 upgrade numbers advertised is to the crank.

So that's what I've been thinking. I think that makes 310ish to the wheels? I could be wrong.

I'll read the responses later.

Beat a Z06 with e85? That doesn't sound hard to believe honestly.. Jody n I were playin with an ISF the other night and we could take him in a roll, and only lose by 2 cars from a dig on shitty surface; was pulling on him in 4th tho. Isf's are mid 12 second cars out of the box. I'm not fully bolted, although Jody is, but he just got his first tune that night. I pull him by a bumper or 2 lol.
We're both tuned for regular fuels, not e85.. doesn't exist up here. A Z06 will also only run low to mid 12's as well.. maybe high 11's on the track with sticky rubber, and we are talking about some random guy in a street race who's not necessarily a skilled driver.

Yep to the crank, if you look up a couple posts you will see a dyno I posted of a APR k04 gti vs their APR stage 3 gti. 310 whp 320 wtq on dynojet.

Maybe, but then again after 80 mpgh there is barely any problem with a driver unless you're one footed... The c6 z06 should just pull, they're not even in the same trap speed range so I doubt it was a c6 z06.

I'm sorry to say your friend is a noob. a k04 gti is not putting down more than 330 torque to the wheels he needs to do a lot more research.

Look at the graphs I posted above^^ a recent MK6 GTI with APR k04 v2.0 made 310 whp and 320 wtq on a dynojet. Everything APR posts is to the crank!

OP you realize he is spending LOTS of money on turbo upgrades and aftermarket tuning and you have the GM tune intended to keep your motor alive for warranty and otherwise stock and running doors with him?

A simple tune from a good tuner (from my experience) completely stock will put you at like 290-300whp and 320-340wtrq, in a much lighter car. If you get bolt ons it wont even be fair, and youll still be stock turbo!

not a chance it was a C6, when they go 0-60 on what 3.6 seconds and 11.7 1/4 not a fat chance...

as for a c5 thats MORE believable

I beleive Mongorat is probably around 350-360whp, and with those 4.45 gears in that car that is not entirely possible. remember a 200hp car can run a 500hp car if its only geared to 100mph.... *you get my point* Also it was from a roll so ya why wouldnt it be possible?

idk, i could see a C5 just not a C6. 1st gear alone is capable of what 70mph? then youve got 5 more matched to 505hp?

i just dont see it happening

Ya a stock balt i can kind of see his point if he was not stock and keeping up with a vette or sligtly pulling on a c6. The zzp turbo swap kit for an lsj car with full bolt ons and a good tune cna be 350-400whp and run 11.8 at 120 in the quater mile. There is a video on youtube of a guy doing it but then again he had drag slicks on it to lol.

but id like to see a video of the balt going up with the gti after the mods. also one thing i love about wisconsin is e85 everywhere in every town and city

vette yes.... Z06? no...

prolly the Gran Sport vette since it has the fender flares and hood scoop the Z06 does without the ponies under it

The 4.45 ZZP trans is a blast to drive. I finally got the Stage 3 clutch broke in and got a BYT E85 tune and its pretty crazy . The weather here sucks so Im still waiting to get it up to the roadcourse or for that matter any course thats dry

True, 34k is a lot for a golf. But it is an R. a regular cobalt is what 14k? our SS is about 25... a regular GTI is about 24 the golf R is 34.. pretty same difference in pricing between cars. If I'm not into it and dont feel it is worth the money. I'm going bmw 335.

for the price of a golf r you could get an evo/sti (both have huge aftermarket and more potential) or a used c5 z06, 370z, 5.0 mustang, etc. vw is overpriced imo.

oh yea, maintenance cost on those things suck too.

true, but why would I want to downgrade my interior even more haha. As I'm getting older I do want some luxury and quality with my car. I'm still used to my GTI interior but besides that. You can't compare quality from evo/sti to a VW. It is very overpriced I agree, but it is a 2.0 k04 Awd monster, and it really looks appealing inside and out. To each their own I guess. c5z06 370z 5.0 stang are all coupes lol. I need something more than a 2 seater, but for now im chillen wiht my balt.

Ill be able to contribute to this thread soon. Iv already raced my friends 2011 GTI from a dig and beat him by a few cars... pretty sure he said he had the stage 1 and 2 intake, complete 3" turbo back, and stage 2 ecm(i think)! Then the day after the race he ordered an intercooler lol... My car was GMS1 and catless zzp dp at the time

If the weather is decent we are both going to a big VW meet in Ocean City, md where APR will be there and he is getting his K04 kit plus something about them using his car as a demo car that weekend! Ill sneak some pics and good info about it soon hopefully

Quick Reply: apr k04 vs. cobalt ss K04
