Hey guys, im looking to get some decently loud exhaust on my 2009 Ss/tc without gettin' alot of tickets. I want a full 3in system but which muffler should I get with it? Also will removing my cats set a code off?

 

yeah going catless may cause a code, but some guys get lucky and it doesn't throw a code, and Modern Performance makes a pretty nice exhaust

 

Forgot to mention I have to keep my powertrain warranty

 

going catless will throw a code eventually and your choices are mpx hahn zzp megan racing and i know im missing one or two companies lol

and keeping your powertrain warranty and modding the car is a crapshoot....some dealers care some done im lucky mine doesnt lol

 

Im gonna have to ask em. I don't think ill get megan because I know a guy with that and it sounds like a candy wrapper is stuck inside it lol. Never heard of mpx. Which do you recommend between hahn and zzp?

the megan sounds good but its only a 2.5" at least for now and mpx is modernperformance there from texas and make there own parts there exhaust sounds really good!

 

if you get a catless DP from zzp they have a O2 defouler to help with the possibility of a CEL coming on.


if your trying to retain your warranty,im sure your not tuned or maybe your GMS1. a Cat-back exhaust really is worth the money to power ratio...

catless DP+muffler delete on the stock cat back=legit but sort of loud

they are all extremely loud gotta say that

 

he has a ss/tc not a ss/sc lol tcs are usually pretty quiet unless you do a muffler delete

 

if you go catless its only loud at WOT,depending on cat back also

 

what about mpx catted dp and muffler delete? loud as hell highway drone? or just loud when u get on it?

 

cant talk from experience about MPX. ive herd good things about it though

 

Don't do a muffler delete, It's obnoxious. I roll my eyes every time some douche comes cruising by when his car sounds as loud as a regular car at WOT. You will probably like it for about two weeks, then it will get annoying with the drone.

 

i have the mpx catted dp and love it, just looking for maybe a lil more sound, just dont want highway drone

 

That is just my opinion keep in mind. You will get more sound going from the stock 2.5 inch to the 3 as well.

 

muffler delete sounds good IMO. i bought my exhaust used from my buddy. he had his turbo back Hahn exhaust on for i think 2 summers and then the beginning of last summer he cut the big ass hahn muffler off and put a high flow in and i think it sounds great. it is a hair on the loud side but at WOT it sounds amazing. the stock hahn muffler was too quiet or atleast my friend though so lol

 

honestly the perfect setup, it's only loud when you're on it
