ya did anyone ask tom at CED? he can make up kits.....

 

I asked and he said there are no rebuild kits out. I was kind of thinking about getting brembos of another car and modifying them mount to work

 

this is why everybody that powdercoats brembos has had to buy new calipers and why i painted mine lol

 

Im still dead set on powdercoating its just it sucks having to buy new fronts to do it but it might be better this way. I can have the new ones powdercoated and then swap them for the stockers and then break down the stocks and clean them up really well and have them powdercoated as well and put them back together right and then figure out a way to mount them on the rear

 

once theyve had fluid in them you cant powdercoat them so good luck lol

 

Im sure some compressed air could take care of about 99% of it if not completely especially if I give them plenty of time to drain out and stuff

 

but if any is in there and it gets baked in your fucked lol

What parts do u need....also will this brake fluide be a problem on use brembos?

 

The rebuild kit and the boot kit as far as I know. The only other issue is getting ALL of the brake fluid out of the caliper before sending it off.

 

Yeah wit brake cleaner? Wouldnt sandblast take care of that...would u need a rebuild kit for the back also?

 

I dont know what would be best to get it all out probably some kind of solvent. As far as the backs idk if anyone has a rebuild kit for those yet

Sandblasting is just going to take care of the outside not the internal channels that will have residual brake fluid. Curing the powder in the oven will likely bake the fluid into the caliper and ruin it.

why cant you just take the whole caliper apart, remove pistons and everything and go at it with brake clean... it cant be that hard to get all the fluid out. i mean it only takes an air gun to get a piston out of a caliper...

 

I dont get it, I just got my brakes powdercoated and didnt rebuild them and there fine.....

 

Did you take them apart when you got them pc'd

 

there is a reason peeps pay me to do the work. its not hard, its just painstaking work to do it right. the media blast, if it touches the caliper piston bores will wreck the caliper beyond help.
ced sell the parts they are not cheap.

i remove everything to coat. a pc caliper is a thing of beauty....

That is some great work!! How do you get the brembo logo and name back on the caliper?

 

#1 the calipers are not pc'ed and the brembo is painted on, so first we sand the original "decal" off with 1000 grit and a sanding block. Then remove all parts, plug holes, media blast and pc, then re -assemble.

the decals are genuine Brembo , cost 10 bux each but dont peel or wrinkle.

Last thing to go on are the decals....

 

The rebuild kits are on national backorder, been trying to get them for a bit now. If Tom at CED has them in stock, jump on them..
