Would be awesome to do a cruise or something that can be done! Lol nope I am from Niagara area in Ontario!
Yes they did an amazing job with my clutch and trans mount. They also do tuning, wheels & tires, detailing etc pretty much a 1 stop shop. The owner has a GT-R that is absolutely clean as heck. They have experience with cobalts as well which is good as I haven't been able to trust a place before especially for performance stuff. Now I do most of the installs myself but I didn't have the time nor experience to drop my tranny and perform a clutch job. No chatter or anything and the mounts don't give off any vibrations like people have claimed so I believe they did an unreal job and now have my full business in the future for anything.
I do most work myself just like you and leave the more sophisticated installed for someone with more experience like Mr. Powell. Did some clutch installed in my younger days. It is not much fun without a lift in single car garage and on your own. lol..
Tomorrow seems like a nice day I may go for cruise to NOTL and to Fort Erie taking the side road. Hopefully I will meet up with you sometime this summer. Cheers.

Exactly! And the time it takes to complete I don't think I would be able to commit right now. I was hoping to take it down to Powell but that is a trip and sometimes it is hard for me to find a return ride. It is a great day out I plan to rip down to burlington to visit my parents to grab some stuff. Yes hopefully I waited so long to modify my cobalt but it is finally done and ready to enjoy a cruise with other modded ones
Clutch feels great and strong! I love the response from the lighter flywheel and ive never had a fresh clutch before. Going to attempt some basic paint correction tomorrow and will post pics.
Clutch has been amazing still and car has been running flawless. Paint correction never happened I just got really busy. Started messing around with tuning more and finally was able to solve some things since my remote tune. I have since registered at my local college for trade school to become an automotive tech.
My next build plans are:
ZFR, S257 or another T3 turbo
82# springs + retainers
Possibly going to rebuild engine
(list coming soon)

Nice. You got HP Tuner? Good for you taking trade school. Niagara College? Many late nights for me at Mohawk and Humber College. When this latest lock down expire, we all should meet up for a cruise?
Enjoy the nice warm long weekend!!

Yes I did! Had some issues with my remote tune that I figured why not learn how to fix myself. Fixed nasty cold start misfires and a few other things and also dialed my boost down since it was set to 24psi and I am not trying to blow my K04 up before I replace it lol
Yes at NC they have a great place and also offer a term of coop so that will get me some actual experience.
Absolutely man I would love to I remember when this site was active I always wanted to meet up with a bunch of guys but never could and now I have my cobalt all done up so it would be lots of fun. You as well! I drove to burlington today and there was some nice cars out even saw a yellow viper.
Hoping to get an oil change done tomorrow and also gonna try to replace my intermediate shaft and sway bar bushings as I have clunking AGAIN

Did you reach out to Kevin for tunning? I bought my own HP Tuner last summer just so I can do some minor fan settings and to turn off my cat warm-up.
What happen to the intermediate shaft? You have the aftermarket sway bar? The bushing is a problem. Replace mine with Energy Suspension 2 years ago.
Not sure what you have plan for a career as an Mechanic? If you are thinking of going further and want to be a fabricator/mechanic, I would suggest take some welding classes and CNC classes too? Then apply to work at Multimatic inc. A few years back when they were in the middle of the Ford GT production, they were hiring lots of people. I think that would be awesome place to work assembling/fab work for guys like us who like to work on cars. Too late for me to start now.. Planning for my retirement in a dozen years or so.
When to see Mr. Powell last weekend and Lambos were everywhere up in Vaughn and King City area. If I have the $, I would rather have the new 992 Turbo S. I don't see much of them that often? Seen more GT3.
Let see if my lotto Max match up perfectly tonight's draw. Most likely not.

Originally I did and had every intention of going to him and getting it done until ZZP black friday I couldnt resist as I wanted to buy HPTuners to do my own logging. Now I have learned a lot more and made some adjustments to my 1.0 ZZP tune to fit my style of driving. My intermediate shaft was toast and because I just got the rack spacers installed with the trans mount this caused the shaft to realign in a way that made it almost impossible to remove with force. I brought my car into Boost Theory today to get it installed (they had to actually drop the subframe slightly to get it to budge) and a walnut blast because I have never done it before (200k kms) and wow they showed me cyl 2 intake valves and this is before and after pics
this was my idle issue amongst many other things it fixed. The valve was so bad it was actually causing a big leak since it couldn't seat properly so this whole time I have been driving my cobalt with it gunked up. Thank goodness I daily drive the thing and baby it out of boost but I was messing around with my tuning in April/May so I have a feeling I was just in time for anything else to seriously go wrong. An expensive day but well worth it as the drive home feels like I just loaded a tune up from stock lol Now time to adjust my tune as I was really having to adjust the MAF base and freq with the car breathing badly. I am interested in machining as I am learning in class how to machine cylinder heads and bring it all to factory spec. Measurements are so precise too.
Thats awesome you saw Powell! I was meaning to take a trip down for some service but its a bit of a drive. I think if I decide to build this car I will want a few more of his goodies.

Looking good. I bought a HP Tuner not too long ago and trying to learn a little bit more about my tune. Made fans activation sooner and turn off my cat warm-up.
The coking is an major issue we have to live with and try to contain. Even after 15k km, mine got coated up with the gunk. I am going to try something different by cleaning the valves with CRC Turbo and Valve cleaners at every 8-10k ( every other oil changes) and see if it will slow the gunk buildup. Blasting is the best but a lot of work.
Went to see Mr. Powell last week to diagnose this buzzing sounds. With his suggestions, I found the culprit - turbo compressor wheel. Made a post over in Force Induction board.

Nice! How are you liking it so far? VCM scanner is such a helpful tool. If you ever have any questions I can try to help! If not I am active on the HPtuners forum where theres a few OG tuners there that help from time to time. Ya it is brutal! I was recommended to run some meth water injection to help keep it cleaner there so I am debating what will be my next plan for it.
Big oof. Right in the damn sidewall too. I just had a very similar looking screw pulled out of the brand new Conti's on my Viper. Luckily it was in the middle of the tread though.
Where did you buy them? Might want to look into whether or not you received a Road Hazard warranty when you bought them. The last set of Continentals that I bought came with free Road Hazard warranty.
Honestly for Toronto, I buy the road hazard warranty every. single. time. There's only 2 seasons in Toronto: Winter, and Construction; a note about the latter, is that I've noticed the 401 has a lot more damage than normal this year, especially the Gardiner.

I actually got them used even though the guy had maybe 1k kms on them so they were like new. Definitely will look into that for the new set I buy.
It was around 1200 all in after taxes and fees to mount+balance+install+get rid of old tires and get that hazard warranty thing that USMCFieldMP mentioned! Then subtract my 100$ GC and I got 100$ CT bucks back.
And now we are good to go! New tires for the first time ever (I've always been cheap and bought whatever used tires were on sale off kijiji)
O Rly? Well, since you're new to having new tires...
Just make sure you are a little bit easy with them in the first hundred miles or so... well, not necessarily easy, but don't push their limits too hard in a corner. The outer layer of rubber will still have the mold release compound on it, so they can be a little bit slick and unpredictable. Just need to burn off that outer layer, so if you can setup your own autocross course in a parking lot... go for it.
Well the car looks like it’s coming together nice, I think it’s time I organize a cruise for July.
Sounds good I look forward to it!

Lmao thank you I was gonna say! I'm not use to this at all lol drove it around the block and they're so quiet and smooth. Can't wait to give a nice 2nd and 3rd gear pull.
