Question called dealer about SS/TC stage kit

so as everyone knows, the kits are all out for the sky, solstice, and HHR. no one knows why the cobalt kit is not out. the guy at the deaer didnt know either. i have heard that it will be out this march, but im not positive.
they guy at the dealer said the kits for the HHR are about 750. goes up to 290hp and 340tq.

i just want a stage kit so bad. lol.

QUESTION=
does the stage kit have to be installed by the dealer to keep the warranty?
im pretty sure it does, thought id ask to see if anyone would know.

thanks!

yes it has to be instaled by dealer.... i'd go to another dealer tho cause 750 is a ripoff for the kit i know you can buy the kit online for 540 and it is only an hour instal so at most 650 for the kit and instal.... to ans. your other ? the reason the kits are not out for the cobalt ss/tc (or so i have heard) is because the airflow from the stock box isn't good enough and the stage one kit for the ss will (maybe, just what i have heard) come with a full cold air intake

btw.... i suck at launching apparently cause my best run was 146@101

Not sure for the turbo'd ones.. But I have a SC cobalt and I installed stage 2 myself without messing with the warranty. Most dealerships will lie and say you have to get it installed by them.. Which is brainless for them to say because that's how they make money. I had them call and verify with the main GM headquarters and they clearly told me I could install it myself and just have them do the GM stage 2 tune and it would not mess with my warranty. I got a case number from them and everything. True Story

13.6@104 stock, I'll try to beat slowstang's 13.5 this spring. Either way, when this kit comes out, I'm grabbing it immediately.

P.S. There are already several threads on this topic so prepare for flamage.

nah it's all good. There are so many rumors and he said she said stuff going on with this GM kit that it's getting confusing. I wish they would just make a press release about it already

yea i have heard about the kit having an intake and tune, and about the factory air flow not being good. then i have heard about it being a completely bolt on kit. i know there are threads about the kits but i was asking about the kit being installed. and yea its my firsts stick so i suck at launching. i dont think the track was at its best either. im sure it was just my driving. i was stock on that run. now i have a K&N drop in, and a custom 3 inch catback, but the computer keeps it from adding power. thats why i want this kit SO BAD!!!

How can you order and install something that hasn't been released yet?

The stage kits for the HHR,Solstice, and Sky have been released but the Stage kit for the Cobalt hasn't.

Well, I'm just waiting for Chevy to release my 09 with RPD!!! The Stage kit souds awesome!! I hope you're not bullshitting myself, because by the time I get my car I hope the stage kit is available.. and as far as price, just find a dealer that will work with you. I used to be a Chevy dealer for 3 1/2 years, the parts department would always hook my up with 10% over cost when I needed something, which is same as GM employees and pretty reasonable. Definately keep posted on stage kit and when you do get it, or anyone that does, make sure to post power results!!!

NO WAY! This is total BS. Some guy that owns collision shop is going to be able to order this from a dealer. What a load. How can the dealer even get it? A kit for the cobalt doesn't even exist. Look at all the different part numbers depending on Solstice/ HHR - Auto/manual. Dude ordered the wrong kit - guaranteed!!!
