can't launch

i just can not get the hang launching my car
its getting extremely frustrating guess i just need more practice

i have tired

slipping the clutch (still need to work on not holding the clutch in too long)
launch control (horrible)
launching at lower rpm like 2-4k ( still tryna find the sweet spot)
launching with the tune off then turning it back on (this got me my fastest qt. mile time)

but i guess i can practice more over winter and if i can master it on the cold ground then come spring i should be ok i guess

Have the Traction off, not in comp mode either. Launch at 2k-2500 RPM and slip the clutch to get moving. Then gradually go WOT to maintain traction but keep speed up. Takes practice to nail it

i've never had luck either... 2200 and slipping gets me massive wheel spin and 1800 usually results in bogging to a 2.5 60ft lol... i was at a track recently where i dumped slipped it quick at 3500 try to clean off the tires and the car damn near cutoff... VHT FTW!

Keep in mind that when you do finally hook, that's when your transmission blows up.

Or have your tuner write your tune to Mimick this.. Probably a little smoother and one less thing to concentrate on,

That would be Vince haha. I just wish they'd figure out how to adjust the stock launch control. It worked perfect when I was stock, but 5k = Fail now

On street tires maybe. Shouldn't be racing on street tires anyhow.

Dude front wheel drive is just a huge pain to launch. The weight transfers to the back tires which is worthless. Just do the best that you can, you'll catch alot of people in second and third.

This.

But using street tires on 18" wheels is just killing yourself. Makes it exponentially harder. Things can be easily added to prevent weight transfer if he is serious about it.

Until you use a small/light wheel with a full slick, you really won't ever understand.

Absolutely correct. But not everyone has the cash to get 2 different wheels and tires for the front just to drag with. Maybe the OP should try the football mod? I have heard that helps alot. I want to give it a shot just to see haha sounds like a an amusing idea.

Footballs/air bags. Chain struts. "Wheelie bar" in rear. That is just some of the things that can prevent weight transfer.

you can just give it 50-70% TQ management in 1st and that will help with wheelspin
