Car drifts to the left...anyone else?

I am findind while my car is coasting, it always wants to pull ever so slightly to the left...Its brand new, 2010 with only 1000 km's on it...... Even when I am in the curb lane which usually slants to the right, it still wants to pull ever so slightly to the left. I did a google search on this and apparently alot of redline guys have this problem.

Anyone else out there? Misalignment from the factory?

Jason

Possibly the rear brakes binding.

I had the exact same problem since day 1 with my car (even the test drive). The dealer did an alignment on the car prior to my purchasing the car and it still has always done it. I've never been able to really figure out the issue

I am going with the alignment as well. Car should drift to the right just a hair if any.

Had mine aligned the day I bought it and it still drifted. It's nothing rediculous, it's just weird

dont quote me on this i may be wrong but i believe you should have a slight drift due to the crown in the road so the water runs off the road and doesnt puddle. But like i said i could be wrong.

I'm running a totally different tire than stock right now and it pulls just the same as the stock conti's.. it's definitely a conundrum if I do say so myself..

car shouldnt drift at all ,tell them to do an alignment and get it right lol

or if you have different tires on the front, one could be driving more aggressively

I'm not sure if the OP tried an alignment already or not, but I know it didn't seem to fix the problem for me for some reason. I don't know, maybe I'll just get another one and see if it helps. **** for all I know the sheisters at the dealer could have just BSed me and said they did an alignment and really didn't touch it

Seen this make a differance, only thing we ended up doing an alignment with the customer in car. He was a touch over 500 lbs and completly fixed the problem.

Tramlining http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tramlining.
Tramlining is the tendency of a vehicle's wheels to follow the contours in the surface upon which it runs
Vehicles with large and wide low profile tyres are more prone to the effects as well as vehicles which have wheels fitted that are larger than the manufacturers recommendation or have reinforced sidewalls. People who are relatively inexperienced with driving with this tendency will feel that they have to make continual course corrections and it is very easy to overcompensate the steering, which could potentially lead to veering off the road especially if the road is a narrow track/country road.

The effects of tramlining can be eased by subjecting the vehicle to an inspection and calibration of the wheels (ie. a full geometry check) or replacing the tyres with non-reinforced (soft sidewall) tyres.

Iv had the same peoblem with my SS/sc since day one. at once point it was realy bad, turns out i had alingment. but even after the alinmgent the car still pulls depending on what road im on. Since iv switched to a 235 width tire its gotten worse but im gotten use to it.

Had the same issue(slight pull to left); dealership rechecked alignment and said it was fine. One of the service writers suggested this was normal due to unequal length axles and shifting into neutral while in motion seemed to stop it but idk. Played with tire pressure (slightly) and it's pretty much nonexistent.

I get the same thing, and I've had the car aligned twice (both came back clean). The problem is infinitely worse when I switch to my winter tires. With some tire pressure tweaking it more or less goes away - I only notice it on some highways.

hmmm... I also have this problem on my '09' SS. drives me nuts, Im almost tempted to bring it in for an alignment. But that sounds like it doesnt work.. sooo, I'll rotate the tires and see what happens. Then I'll resort to messing with the tire pressure.

Thanks for all the reply's guys. Here is the thing...first off, im a fairly fit, 180 pound guy...LOL no weight issue there! Second, this only started after I put my stock continentals back on. I had my winter rims/tires on and I cannot recall having that problem! I know its not the brakes, because I have already had them serviced and sliders lubed. I can rule that out. I suppose it's possible it COULD be the alignment. I have a few small warranty issues I need to get looked at, so when I take it in, I will get them to check the alignment.

I just put my summers back on and rotated them - no dice, still does it.

Mine has always done it.

I've had an alignment, and had the tires rebalanced, fixed the rear brakes, and I've rotated the stock tires 6 times... And I've tried different tire pressure.

No changes.
