Michigan lawls. Cool thing about my buddys 1.8T Vdub is that the exhaust has a section to where just a cat can bolt up too it.

Also if you are looking to pass visual, you might get away with coring out the rear cat in the stock DP.

No state inspections or emissions testing FTW.

illinois they just hook up your obd2 sensor and look for codes. no sniff test, no visual test.

I'm in Illinois but I don't have testing where I am, which is weird because my Gf lives like 20 miles north and she has too haha

i also have TurboXS catless DP. i never threw a CEL with it on here in MD... i am also trifecta tuned not to have a CEL because of no cat...

i went in the emission center. catless and i had the RFL on as well. the guy took the mirror around the car. plugged in something in my OBD2 and said i passed and i was good to go.

There's a lot of state inspectors that are too lazy to look under the car to check exhaust systems. Most care about tires, lights, suspension, mirrors, tint, and if there's an engine light on.

car is to new, dont have to go through that crap for 7 years :P, but by then they might have gotten rid of it all together.

if i did have to go through it i would just throw the stock downpipe on.

If they are just plugging it into the OBD2 and you are tuned to not throw the CEL, you will pass. If they wand your exhaust there is a 90% chance you will fail. If they visually inspect your exhaust you are going to fail. Most places in TX from what I remember don't give two ***** about cats. Just get it inspected if you pass yay if not, see if $$ talks =)

It goes by state AND by county. PA does emissions in a lot of counties, my county doesn't.

Hey everybody

OP, if you have to go through any type of emissions testing (CARB style sniffer or a general obd2 scan) you will fail with a cat-less downpipe. Even if you turned the 02 code off you will still fail because all that does is prevent your cel from coming on and does nothing to the 02 monitors that have to be completed.

Try to find out if you can register your car in a emissions exempt county
