Just curious if anyone has had any emmission problems with a catless DP in the NY area? Have a Hahn catback exhaust and was looking to add the downpipe, any input would be greatly appreciated!

 

If there is a sniffer requirement in the county you're registered in, then your car will fail. The downpipe install only takes an hour, so just keep your stock downpipe for inspections.

 

i live in dutchess county and they don't have the sniffer for newer cars, they plug a new york state computer into your car and it checks everything thru the cars pcm. my car has hahn catless downpipe but it doesn't trip the check engine light thats basically all ny is looking for

 

As long as the cel is off and the battery hasn't been disconected recently it should pass.
But keep in mind they have to pick the car up to do the safety part of the inspection. If they notice it has no cat they will fail you.
