22995 - base (includes destination, just forgot about that)
450 - lsd
195 - wing
660 - desty

the MSRP would be $24300, less destination is $23640, which is the price I was quoted, MSRP anyway.

So, where do you get the $23685, would you be kind enough to break it down? Including the discount, if any.

Thanks

JK
$22,995 msrp + $495 G85 Limited Slip +$195 D81 Aero Wing = $23,685. This INCLUDES destination.

So like i said, if the dealer is charging you $23,640 PLUS destiniation, they are screwing you, and if its $23,640w/dest, well your saving $45 off MSRP, so again, they are still screwing you.

Okay, I get these over whelming senses that I must rectify a previous misdoing. In this case it was my haste to post the pricing I received.

So, for those reading and those I've spoken with, here is the detail.

The document I have says "GM Dealer World" on the top left corner

The vehicle was configured with rear wing and limited slip differential, this straight off the "GM Dealer World" print out...

high wing - $150 (not the previous $195)
LSD - $495 (the quoted correct price in all the doco's)

MSRP - 22995 (including destination charge of $660/non-negotiable)

Total MSRP - $23640
Invoice - $22793
GMS - $21794
Supplier - $22768

The best pricing is the GMS, but I'm not sure you could get them to come down to that price. Normally the dealership can deal at invoice and get the "hold back."

"Hold back" as I understand it, are fee's they collect under the invoice that include "advertising and other incidentals incurred when doing business with GM."

Anyway, I hope that provides some clarity!

JK

I hear ya. A couple of my friends were telling me to get the sunroof, cuz "it is just tres cool"!!
And I'm like, "Its tres expensive, plus it leaks, plus buttons fall off, plus gm always makes shitty sunroofs."

I'm pretty sure I'm just gonna get the LSD, and (if I can) spoiler delete and front license plate delete. Or I can just buy it in AZ where I bought my current balt, and not worry about the front license. Hell, maybe I can talk them into giving me a better deal since it will be my second car purchase from them.

OK, now i see what youve got. I wasnt aware that the price of the spoiler had been adjusted, and my sheets still dont show it at $150, but that $45 aside, your numbers are accurate. Most dealers will not hesitate to sell at "Invoice" on a readily available product or a car they cant move Other than that I would expect to pay close to MSRP before rebates on the TC for a while. GMS is what commonly gets called "dealer employee" pricing, and thats what it is (other people qualify for it as well though) I would be prepared to get a polite smile and a solid "no" at best and possibly directly laughed at if you ask for GMS pricing if you dont qualify for it already and have your purchase authorization number. And if you already have your number, well then you also know that your dealer doesnt have to honor GMS. I was already told by my DP that he wasnt gonna be letting anyone on the complex have any of the first 3 cars at anything other than MSRP.

Youve got a good bargaining tool in that sheet, but be prepared to pay the same regardless of what prices you can quote them.

Why does the OP list that MSRP AND the destination charge? Is 23,490 the correct MSRP including the destination charge and a limited slip?

I called a dealership today to see what kind of price he'd give me. Told me it'll be the first order at that dealership, so he'll sell it to me for $400 over invoice, whatever the invoice happens to be...along with free tires for life and a free detailing once a year. Stopping at one more dealership on Thursday, if they can't beat it (which i doubt they can), I'll be stopping by there to order it.

YES.

Also the car became avialable to order on the 21st, and GM is recommending this to dealers:
Cobalt SS Turbo suggested order: 1AS37 ($22,995) + CF5 (sunroof $750) + G85 (limited slip differential $495) = MSRP $24,240.

So expect to see the cars equipped as above on the lot.

If and when I get one it's definitely going to have to be with the high profile wing. Just looks a lot better than the low profile one to me. Especially since I plan to get it in sport red with everything else(damn GM for getting rid of sunburst orange!)

Okay, no problem. Since I havent ordered one for myself all I can go by is what GM releases, if they are saying one thing and doing another there is no way i can account for that.

no thats cool dude, i heard they opened the ordering up on the 6th, that is why i said something, but i think they didn't offer pricing until the 21st like you were saying, so most dealers don't order things without pricing.

Phew, I confused myself there for a bit....

Yes I am up on the GMS issue, many dealers just won't/can't honor it esp. on newer vehicles....

I was quoted 500 over invoice, but no free tires like the other poster. I think after I brought in a set with blue-smokey smoke on the edges they wouldn't honor it :-) of course I plan on putting some 'street' rims on it... and putting some better rubber on the stockers...

As for that $45 bucks on the spoiler, yah, that was weird, but I'm wanting the down force so I'll take it.

ref: sunroof; I would agree on the leaking part. I had an 01 impala SAP and the sunroof was great, but I'm sure over time it is a problem. You would be better off going after market and gettting a lifetime warranty, as long as it doesn't affect the car's warranty - maybe the dealership has someone they use as many people want a sunroof and the dealer can install after delivery. Just like they can install different seat covers for katzkin etc.

I don't need an egress point in the roof, the window is fine...

yeah but you guys have to keep in mind the sc has only been out for what 3 years now? it takes a few years for companies to develop stuff. so when all you other sc owners trade in your whips for these new tc'd models you are going to be sitting and waiting for parts to become available. ok maybe not too long, because of the gxp. im sure its a great car, but why go through all the hassle for 20 more hp? give or take a few ofcourse. and alot of people talk about improvements, are there really any huge differences, i dont think so. i kinda liked the fact that we were running around with eatons instead of the usual turbo charged 4 bangers. i am sure its going to be a great car, im just going to stick old school i suppose. its all going to split our "community" apart, lol. now the tc guys are going to be a new kind of toolbox. bet they even start their own forum, for 08 models only. anyway guess i better start gearing up the old 07 sc. all in all it will just make for more fun. now we just have to wait and see i guess.

Have you read anything about this car? There's a lot more different than I think you are aware. Check this link out:

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=125288

Among the differences:
-brakes
-wheels
-clutch
-flywheel
-addition of traction control
-no-lift shift
-springs
-control arms
-steering knuckles
-anti roll bars
-and greatest of all, the LNF engine

I'd say that's quite a bit of differences to be excited about. Just watching that car peel out in the video is exciting considering the fact that I could never do that in my car without bouncing my way down the street. They may not have changed much in the looks department, but all around it is a much better car than the SS/SC IMO. Not to say I am going to sell my car, but I would definitely have been happier if GM would have made this SS back in '05. Especially considering that all of those improvements only raised the MSRP $1K.

That is true. They moved the pedals closer together for easier heel-toe shifts. Since that was one of the big complaints on the ss/sc.

anybody know when they're gonna put the T/C on the chevy site to price out with the options you want instead of having to go to the dealer to figure that out?
