Chevy Cobalt SS Turbo Continues To Impress

Reading the Road & Track story made us smile as they were just experiencing something we had known for a long time, that the new Cobalt SS Turbo was the best bang for the buck sport compact car on the planet. It’s hard to argue with that, as the Cobalt SS pulled off the highest ¼ mile trap speed in the comparison at 104 miles per hour and was able to cover the distance in just 13.9 seconds. The Cobalt SS was also able to achieve the most lateral acceleration and highest slalom speed with its Nürburgring tuned suspension and chassis.

Just got the magazine in the mail Tuesday. Good stuff indeed. It's funny because at first I thought it was the 2 door coupe they tested, (Cobalt pic is in the fold of the mag makes it look 2 door) when in fact it was the 4 door sedan!! Nice article!
Before I read the article, I thought it would actually come in 3rd. But to my suprise it pretty much dominated!! The Cobalt SS/TC shocked a lot of people and continues to do so. All the more reason to keep it around a lot longer in my opinion. Why stop a good thing GM? 0-60 5.4? This thing is not slow people.

High props to Chevy and John Heinricy for tuning the thing for handling. I just hope they keep it around. Of course the article did bash the interior compared to the others, but I can live with that, lol. My question is, why did they test a yellow one? haha.

Just Read Car and Driver last Night, at The lightning lap, The SS dominated. Not onlt was by far the fastest in the under 25k field, but it beat ALL BUT 3 of the $30k to $60k cars, only bested by a BENZ, the CTS-V, and Lexus IS-F, in that field. That means, on a racetrack it was faster than, the EVO X, New STI, the R32, CSRT ( by A LOT ), S200 CR, Mugen Civic ( a 30K Slow-as **** Mobile ), others, just off the top of my head. So, yea come see us and our SS/TC's anytime. It finished something like 9th out of 25 cars, and was the cheapest by 4 grand the the next cheapest.

The IS-F lost the game, btw.

X2. Just imagine how much faster the ss/tc would be around those tracks with a set of Dunlop Z1 star spec tires and a tune. It would put the evo X to shame and for a fraction of the price.
X2. He has the same car and color as me, and lives about an hour from me.
