Happened yesterday.. what should I be worrying about as far as parts breaking down the road?? Insurance wise I want to know what to claim besides the obvious. =)

3 lanes, I was in the far right... guy made a blind left turn and I smacked into him. Lucky for me I was not in the wrong, he was.. so I dont have to pay a dime.

Im just worried about my car being a lemon after its repaired...

looks like a pretty easy repair. only issue you may have after repairs is headlight fitment. but take it to a good shop and you should be fine

^ nope, the Daewoo's never had them either, cost savings and weight. just dont look at the safety ratings...

looks like a bumper cover, headlight assy, and bracket, fender adn i might try to push for a matching set of front tires if there is any sidewall damage at all. be sure it gets repaired with all GM parts, no cheap aftermarket ****.

Haha, thanks for the support guys.

After the crash the guy who crashed into me from (pakistan/iran?) who could barely speak English kept asking me to give him a ride to work. I just wanted to take some pictures and get his information, but he kept asking me over and over "i just need a ride down the street" and I would say, "dude, my car is EFFED, I cant drive it, I cant give you a ride sorry" Then he asked me like 10 more times.

Im glad I was on the way back from the gym and basically had no "rage" in me, I was actually not angry whatsoever, though if he caught me on a bad day and kept asking me for a ride id probably have told him to back the **** off before I try to fight him lol

THe most awesome part is this happened basically adjacent to the dealership I bought my car from, and those pictures where taken next to there car lot.

They heard the crash and came out to help me, Im a regular there at the body shop (many claims ive taken there..) so the head shop manager came out lent me there shop camera (i didnt have my cell on me), took my keys, brought my car into the shop and got his crew to fix my pull my panel back, fix my hood and put things together so my driver side door could be opened and the car could be driven, they even put a new signal bulb in so my lights worked and taped it together a bit... Excellent customer care from GM!!

depends how your insurance works where you live. i know back in oklahoma if you are claiming insurance, the insurance company picks the body shop. here in georgia the consumer has the right to pick where the car goes and can even pocket the check and not have repairs made. point being is here i take my cars to a high end european body shop that does repairs for celebrities, sports players, and what not. they take their time and get it done right. if you take it to a good shop, you should have no worries.

Looking at that ginormous picture you'll want to get a new SS rim too. At least you're OK and the damages are minimal.

My wreck was worse than that about $11,000 worth of damage...you should be good. Looks like bumper, headlight, maybe rim and possible suspension components(i doubt) and whatever is under the bumper on that side which is the washer fluid tank(which i doubt also)

Great idea, I don't have my spare in my car because it doesn't fit on my front wheels.. Now I'd have one. Or better yet, if I got another spare down the road.. Somehow, wheels for some drag radials!

Hi, the dealership was SMP, Saskatoon motor products. Il be taking my car to their body shop for my insurance claim as i get to choose.

My biggest problem I see is minimal, however my wheel is rashed badly and probably will be replaced.

My only concern is that my wheels currently are badly pitted and in rough shape. I'm taking a primary care paramedic course outside my city and it has me driving all sorts of roads.

As a result if I get only 1 wheel replaced my car will look really silly to me, it would be nice to get both replaced / painted at the same time. Thanks for the reply.

Why oh why oh why would you put a SPARE on the FRONT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Regardless of whether it fits, a spare should never be put on the front of a car, spare goes on a back wheel, back wheel gets moved to the front.

My experience with FWD cars in the past is that when you have a flat in the rear, assuming your car is completely empty, your able to drive just fine with the rear flat until you get someplace to fix it.

But yes I understand what your saying, but you see what I mean, a spare that is the same as the front would be optimal =)
