Cobalt ss sedan production number?
Cobalt ss sedan production number?
This is more of just a curiosity question than anything. How many cobalt ss sedans were produce? Or how many sold? I have yet to see a cobalt sstc coupe or sedan anyere other than a dealership in both Austin or Lubbock tx. I've looked all over this site, wikipedia, and google with no luck.
Appriciate the help.

One of the guys here is working on this and is getting close to letting us know the results.
I wanted to know the same thing, and never could find any numbers, either.
Curious to see how many sedans
were made - actually, it would be neat to know total production for ' 08 & ' 09 of the SS/TC's jsut to see how many potential sales there are of the stage kit ...

Hopefully, we will know soon !

The data has just been posted on GM Tuner Source:

If I did the math correctly there were only 472 SS Sedan's made only 41 were white.

YaY! Im one of 472 sedans!~! Soooo.... lets all post our build dates and try and figure out who's what build number. I'll make myself a decal that says 328th cobalt SS sedan. lol.
even better, im one of the 15 yellow cobalt ss sedans!!! rofl!

Damn it's a lot more rare than I thought. I'm one of the 179 black sedan owners. I bought mine about three and a half months ago. Of the 474 is produced I wonder how many have actually been sold vs on dealer lots. Is chevy still producing more cobalt sedan.
Total of 1105 coupes in MY'08, 2063 MY'09 coupes and 474 MY'09 sedan (for a total of 2537 for '09). I thought the '08 cars would be low due to only a 3-4 month production run, but they didn't ramp it up a lot for '09. Guess they weren't selling as well to the general population as we thought or possibly there were production constraints on certain parts. Either way my '08 is now about as rare as a lot of the other cars I own. And just like them, probably won't be worth a whole lot a decade from now.
digging up an old thread here, but I have a question about buying one of these cars. Would yall think the '08 coupe or the '09 sedan ss/t would be a better investment long term?
I would lean towards finding a blue '08 coupe (69 made) or one of the low volume '09 sedans (not black/silver/maroon). I've already seen 3 of these sedans riced out, one with original paint painted over, from googling on the net so they may be even fewer and far between say 20-30 years from now. Your thoughts?

Good news for me since I will be trying to find a SS sedan, bad news for others who own a Cobalt and going to trade out of it or sell it.
Rare and limited production doesn't mean anything unless there is a demand for it.
there were over 700 sedans produced in total between the last quarter of 08 and 09. the number you have been given is 09 production numbers only
as far as value... well unless you own a yellow sedan with G85 and low mileage i wouldn't count on them being worth a tonne. hell look at the GMC cyclone pickup and the typhoon SUV. rare and worth money still but not as much as one would expect.

I was thinking along the lines of rare and performance + affordable. Like what happened to the nova, no one thought those cars would go for 2-3 times the price when they came out. I see this as being similar to that car, except I understand its not v8 muscle so the demand may never be there. It seems the consensus is these aren't going to be similar, oh well, the sedan is growing on me.
So instead of going back and forth on numbers and trying to figure out who's right, how many Ss sedans were made period? They were only made in late 08 to 09
Or so. Out of that number, how many are black and how many are yellow?

Black is the most built color, yellow the least. I have white, so one of 41 in the US - less than one per state.
Enjoy !

<-- black 09 SS/TC sedan here. I think the TC cars are going to be a bit of an interesting "history" car, particularly the TC sedans, since they are a blip on an otherwise dead Chevy radar (GM producing performance 4 cylinder compacts). Maybe not in this decade or the next, but there will be a time where the turbo'ed eco's will be a niche, and of those, the limited numbers of sedans will mean just a little bit of extra 'something-something'.
I draw a comparison to the "cross-fire" corvettes that are a collectible curiosity not because of the performance potential, but because of the limited production levels.
I might just keep mine because of that; but then again, I'm busy trying to keep my LT1 Camaro alive for almost the same reason - the "intermediate" value of the transition from gen 1 to gen 3 sbc's, especially on a relatively unmolested car, might just prove to be something.
Wishful thinking, perhaps.....

Far as I was aware, there were 434 made... I have a white sedan ss/tc, and love it! Although there is now another white sedan living three hours away from me, its still rare to see any other ss/tc sedans kicking around Alberta.
I know I have the stats here somewhere, see if I can find the picture.....
