Cross Country X3 Preview
Well folks, I'm about to cross the 60,000mi mark. 2008 LNF Here. My car has seen a few open track days, a fair share of spirited driving, and a lot of famous-last-words moments. Back in October, I drove from New Jersey to Oregon. With my Dad as a co-driver, we hopped three time zones in less than three days.
He has most of the photos, and I will be doing a full write up, with way too many photos, of what it was like to drive my car across the country three times. Yes... THREE times. I've already arrived here in Oregon, and if your inner-mathematician can figure it out, I'll be driving back to New Jersey, and then back to Oregon for a total of.... three. :-)
This is sort of a... prelude to my soon to come review of the last hurrah of the Cobalt SS. The LNF Cobalt SS is simply a demonstration of what GM can do when it takes the time to give a crap. Now unfortunately, with GM forced to reinvent its car lineup to cater to your average consumer, the performance sub-compacts have been put on the back burner.
I am proud to be the owner of the first SS car in quite some time that actually lives up to its "Super Sport lineage.

A crap-load more to come. :-) Stay tuned.

Hahah... good ol' Oregon Trail. Driving across the country is way easier than the game. When I arrived here, I bragged to anyone I met that, "Yes! I drove across the country and did not get dysentery!"
I drove the balt across country... and all i can say is, NEVER go through north dakota. Can't say we met a single person in that god-forsaken state that wasnt taken directly out of the loony-bin. My friend went to the bathroom at the truck stop.. came out with a mortified look on his face ashe began to describe the guy in the stall, on the cellphone with a sexhotline, who put it on speakerphone and decided that it was an opportune time to... yknow. Not only that, but the whole state STANK so bad. I mean, i know jersey is bad, but my god, we couldnt get more than 10 miles without some form of new and absolutely absurd stench invading our nose holes. There was a stretch there that started with my friend letting a fart rip, 5 minutes later, a skunk, 10 minutes later, maneure from fertalizer, then we past the fertilizer factory, then we passed some cows.... then we past the slaughterhouse, i mean, the whole frigging drive thorugh n.dakota STANK.
Couldn't have been as bad as driving through texas...
I had a guy in a mid 90's small truck with a cowboy hat trying to race me on the freeway. LOL
I did the cross country trek with my wife in August, Georgia to California and back
