DashDAQ Data Aquisition and GPS

Does anyone have the DashDAQ by Drew Technologies?

It seems like a very awesome data acquisition interface, very customizable. The winning feature for me is the GPS ability.

I am just wondering if anyone has this for there SS/TC and likes it. I am thinking about getting it when I get my 2009 and putting it right where the RPD would go.

Digital dash's of this caliber usually are, a dashhawk is $300 but has a tiny screen, aeroforce gauges can accept external sensors but only display 2 outputs on each gauge and cost $200 each. The dashdaq does everything the dashhawk/aeroforce does and more and with a big screen to boot, and for only $550. Once you start adding up everything the dashdaq is capable of doing you'll see that's its far from expensive, skim through the gps/multimedia/customize section on their website to get an idea what it can also do.
In the end you get what you pay for i guess, you want to play you gotta pay.

I'd rather buy a separate GPS unit, and a Dashawk and be able to see both engine parameters and navigation at the same time for the same price. To each his own I guess.

Pretty cool gadget, that dashdaq. Thanks for the video.So...what's with the licensing options?I see you can buy gm license with it,for a good buck extra.Does this mean there are some readings it won't give you without it or some even cooler extra stuff?

If you check the licensed driver section you'll see all of the sensors that cost extra. Majority of them seem to be for testing injector/coil/o2/trans sensors, see if you can find any useful ones in the licensed section.

Which ones, there are still generic obd2 pids that aren't listed there. I see iat2 and cam phasing in the licensed section, but the dashdaq team might be able to move them from the licensed section over to the regular one if enough people ask them, they're not really that exotic to be there.
